There seems to be lots of conflicting information here regarding the W13 school bus. I can’t see why it was suddenly upgraded to needing a hybrid mid tender and now gone back to a diesel bus (on paper). The 65 reg arrived around the time the 388 PVR increased for the Elephant & Castle extension, is that a coincidence….. Anyway no point wasting energy on this as the route starts a new tender this year. I always got the impression that the Citys at CT Plus (HK) were treated as a common pool, and the W13 double-decker became a hybrid purely for standardisation after the 388 converted. CT Plus did also have an ex-demonstrator MMC knocking around for a while (I think it was numbered 2400?) Take from the HCT thread where I posted about what was 2538 back then in 2017 The Enviro City demonstrator that was on loan to Reading Buses has been acquired by CT Plus and is to be numbered 2538. It's expected to replace EO1 as the W13's school bus. There was a further post to say it would likely be used on the 388 during the peaks when not in use on the W13's school run. EO1 was subsequently replaced once this bus turned up and EO1 was used the same way that 2538 was used so your probably right in that they went for standardisation especially as the collection of Tridents on the 388 were on their way out at the time. 2400 was hired in to cover for 2510 (I think thats the one) which suffered fire damaged (Liverpool Street if I recall correctly)

I think it was the same bus that was reported in the garage one morning, for having a wet floor. I checked it, and found that diesel had leaked from the tank, and into the saloon. It was returned to adl, and came back "fixed". The second time it occurred (within a day or two), it was again returned, and was never to come back. There had been a problem near the top of the tank.

Correct but the W11 has just converted to EV operation literally overnight which is probably what OP is alluding to Presumably the W5 will convert like this in a week or two once they’re satisfied the infrastructure is working okay

With the W11 converting to electric I look forward to the 309 having a decent allocation of new(er) buses. Talking of the 309 is there a reason 37723 has been pretty much solid on the 309 since around 2017? Why did this bus move across to the route? Was this not purchase for the W19?
And one more question! What was the reason of 12500 (2600) being purchased at HK? I didn't realise they had the bus as far back as 2013.

I believe HCT purchased it in partnership with one of the universities in London- I want to say UCL but I might be wrong. The vehicle was going to be used by the university for research, and HCT were able to use it on the 388 when not being used by the University

It used to have in small writing between the decks part funded by University College London IIRC

The Metrocities are all out on the W11! Stagecoach are really good at getting majority of their electrics on a route on its first day. They did this with the 86,276,339 and now W11.
