Add the E6 to TUK's list of first day 100% electric operation too! Yet 2 months have passed and they haven’t even made an order for the S3 That we know of. Not all orders are made public. |

It does seem odd that route W11 has queue-jumped route W5 for electric buses though. I think it was mentioned upthread that the W5 still has to move to AW and drivers still have to be trained on the Metrocities so it will take a little while before it is able to convert. On the other hand, route W11 is already based at AW so can be electrified more easily. HK is not yet electrified. Also not to mention the W5’s Metrocities are scattered all over the place, the W11’s buses were in storage, probably even sitting in AW garage so it’s easy to just push them into service |

No electrics on the 173 today yet the 174 that usually struggles on a Sunday has 8 out.

On my first Volvo BZL, fittingly 66026 which first of the batch.
Very VERY impressive vehicles, vastly superior to a E200 BYD imo. Cannot wait to go on the DDs
Sadly it has a broken front destination screen, and both BZLs I’ve seen coming in the opposite direction also have broken front screens. Not a good look

I believe it's to make sure that all buses can be charged upto 100% for the morning. On Sunday there's less buses on the road so they can use surplus diesels. The chargers at BK/RM are very temperamental. Some don't work, some wont start / stop charging when you tap the card, some cut out randomly and some charge slower than others. I've mentioned on here before (might have been on old account) but BK/RM use 2x Type 2 Chargers like you'd find for an electric car. I think the max charging speed for these is 40kWh each (80kWh combined) these are made by evolt / swarco. The chargers at PD (and I imagine TL but I've never seen them) use massive industrial style CCS chargers which I believe go upto 150kWh. These are made by Zenobé and seem 10x more reliable. Some of the cables were replaced about 2 years ago at RM as it was said that the charging cables were too heavy and as a result were pulling the head of the charger out of the socket which was causing arcing damaging both the buses and chargers. There has been so much talk and speculation at RM about these chargers being repaired / replaced but little action. On Wednesday however, there were staff from Zenobé in the garage as I was leaving. They could just be surveying to price up for future work as RM has most of its routes due for tender at the same time. At this point I don't see them changing these chargers until further routes convert to EV then the chargers can be replaced at the same time. |

Not a good look Whilst I think the BZLs are tremendous buses, I can’t help but similarly notice how many of the front and side destination screens on the 276’s buses are either completely not working, or have failed in a manner where the screen is only partially displaying correctly or the pixels have become all messy. I hope a fix for this is found soon because when they do actually work, they look and read remarkably similarly to traditional blinds, without any of the funny formatting or bold text that we have seen with other operators’ blinds! |

When will the Enviro 200 MMCs from the W11 be heading over to the 309? I'm pretty sure the blindset on that batch should have the 309 on them anyway!
