There's currently a huge fire at RM. It looks to be in a unit directly behind the garage so not the garage itself but due to the scale of the incident I imagine all operations and services are going to quickly deteriorate as I'm not sure vehicles will be able to get in or out of the garage. It's right next to the exit gate so not sure if buses will be able to leave the garage.

Guessing buses will have to use other garages for meal relief or fuel depending on space. x.com/londonfire/status/1803770227777208412?s=46&t=uBVRkbcZI-IVmGTprvI6zQ

I suppose an option could be for buses and drivers to take relief at Rainham Tesco or possibly ceme center (174) as both have large open car parks.

There is already some disruption to routes 174 and 496. There are large gaps on the 174 as 7 buses are trapped in RM that should have gone out, as well as drivers not turning up on both routes which has caused multiple curtailments to Romford Station.

This happened in First days when it was RN depot. A neighbouring business on the industrial estate went up in smoke at about 2000 hours on a Monday evening and because of the presence of oxygen cylinders the fire brigade said the garage would be out of bounds for about 36 hours. Most of the buses were stuck out on the road and unable to be fuelled or parked, and back then - there was nowhere for the late turn drivers to pay in their cash takings. There was nowhere to sign off the modules which would then would all timelock and all of the emergency packs were trapped behind the fire brigade cordon. Most of the drivers' cars were stuck in and nobody on lates could get home. It was a memorable experience and London's shortest lived depot at Frog Island was the remarkably rapid result. For those of a certain age, it's doubtful that Anneka Rice could have done a better or quicker job.

Also going a bit pear shaped on the 287 with some Barking Abbey curtailments. I wonder if other garages will be drafted in to help out?

Hopefully one of the neighbouring garages would have had a fuel delivery in the past 24 hours. If not, there's a limit to how much they will be able to help before they don't have enough fuel for their own fleet.

I guess the challenge for tomorrow will be to charge enough of the BYDs for the 174 if RM can't be accessed tonight

Not sure how things are going at RM but 10165 is now out on the 174 having finished on the 365 around 3.50pm. I assume this bus must have parked up at a temporary site / another garage until now?
I was expecting the 174 to really suffer tonight as buses started to run low and require charging but all seems okay at the moment.

Cleared at 17.47 according to NMCC.

worse case scenario they'll probably park vehicles at LI, WH, Tescos car park and anywhere else that's got a bit of space. Not sure if you remember, there was a burst water main outside BW a few years ago meaning vehicles couldn't get in/out so buses were drafted in from other garages (included a route 247 branded Trident) to run some buses on BWs routes

LT246 been converted to mirrorless using the system by Safety Tech Is that happening to all future LTs being refurbished, or is this one being simply tested?

LT246 been converted to mirrorless using the system by Safety Tech Saw it on tiktok just now. Somehow I cannot understand why? Are the LTs not being terminated from service?
