I believe that there was an initial rule, but ever since the throwbacks, short contracts and eventual move to electrics I'd not be shocked if LTs get completely run into the ground to get out the maximum value. Yes they should get at least another 10 years out of them - but I understand that Wrightbus have stopped manufacturing spare parts, and given how unreliable they seem to be I suspect that they will be quietly retired at the earliest opportunity. As they have no resale value they will be scrapped with one or two being preserved as a warning to future generations. Equipmake have stated the more could be converted to battery power and that LT11 is not the end of the project. They have won orders for the conversion of some London sightseeing tour buses. They quote the conversion as costing about half that of buying a new bus.

Is that happening to all future LTs being refurbished, or is this one being simply tested? It wasn't during refurb, it's standalone install, maybe test for driver feedback Possibly some LTs will be among these 2.6k buses.

This is a question to members who remember the old Stagecoach TAs well.
There was a period from 2012 where the buses had 'Yellow' coloured 'Wing' mirrors. Around November 2014, Stagecoach reverted to the former Black coloured wing mirrors.
It got me thinking why that happened even tho it is a long time, a decade back, if anyone would know?
I went abroad in early October 2014 when they still had the yellow ones but when I returned in the end of November they were all reverted and photos on Flickr confirm the dates.

Upgrade also includes ISA.... If you could call it an upgrade which in my eyes it certainly isn’t…..

I've seen it and I must say they really look nice on the route, wonderful batch of buses but I really dislike how the front of the bus is just emtpy, almost as though something is missing, being either the Volvo or Stagecoach logo!

According to a post on our internal Blink app, 3 buses have entered service on the 58. 86181, 86182 can be seen in the photo leaving 1 more unknown. At the moment only 86181 is tracking on lvf or bus times so can't be certain if the other 2 buses are out there.

Well I thought that was an option? I mean the 276's BZLs still received them and so did the Electroliners with all the companies.

Randomly popped into my thoughts but it's 20 years ago last week that the last proper RM's ran on Route 8 😮 how has it been 20 years and crazy to see how short the route is now compared to how it was wonder were it'll be the next 20 years They decimated the once proud routes 8 and 15. The 15 is now a wasteman route with a measly 14 bus pvr!

Yellow backed mirrors were an attempt to make them more visible to try to stem the avalanche of mirrors knocked off every year. I don't know why they reverted to black but my sense is that it didn't make a blind bit of difference. Cameras are the latest attempt to solve this age-old problem.
