I wonder why it's even allocated single deckers if the route can get this busy? I mean if it is capable of taking double deckers and the route has no areas where length is necesssarily an issue, then it should definitely be decked. Unless it just tends to be a route that is only busy sometimes at some parts of the day. For example, the D6 is often quite a busy route during its peak times, but during the weekends and quieter times during the weekdays, it's clear why's a single decker service sometimes. I hope it's retained with double decks, either brand new electrics or perhaps some Smart Hybrids from the 241, 330 or 474! The 165 is allocated single deckers for a reason. Apart from a few peak journeys and at school time, the route does not carry loading's that warrant a double decker. As someone who lives on the route I greatly disagree with you but your entitled to your view on the 165, it used to b not busy apart fron the peaks a few years ago but now you can expect a packed 165 from 6:30 in the morning until 7/8PM, weekends the route is quieter as a whole, hopefully TFL amend the contract to double dealers soon. The situation is dire and I have made a complaint to TFL about my recent experiences on the route, not an issue with Stagecoach but rather the fact it’s allocated single deckers as the 256 once was, in my honest opinion it should’ve got double deckers with the 256 a few years ago.

Been told by a reliable source within my garage that 82051 is now a 247 bus Aaaahhh could this mean then the entire 242 batch goes to the 247 and the 242 gets the later upcoming batch? Makes perfect sense with NS electrified and suggests HK won’t be ready for a good while

They have been utilising buses at other garages for sometime now. The 247 could convert well ahead of the tender renewal of March 2025.

I guess as orders are stating to gain momentum we are seeing these more rolling orders being placed, that it probably makes sense as the buses arrive to find atleast a temporary home for them.

I guess operators will have no choice but to as the orders roll in, they won’t have anywhere to store them. With all the BZLs coming in as well for HK that they can’t run on yet too!

I wonder if these delays will have any implications on Stagecoach planning to leave WH by the end of the current tenders on the 241,330 and 474.
The 323 could temporarily move to LI if the charging infrastructure is compatible with the buses. I assume the 277 could still move to HK ahead of the conversion to electric.

Onboard LJ24ZNU and there are a wide variety of interesting things.
The screen showing 173 King George Hospital in a new display style, the time on that display being wrong and the bus reg on the info sheets reads BV24LPN. Oh and the next stop screen repeatedly cycles from Dagenham to King George Hospital

Oh and the next stop screen repeatedly cycles from Dagenham to King George Hospital I wonder how the bus reg on the info was that different to what it actually was. I wonder what you meant by a new display style? I mean would you say it's better or the original way was preffered with the new iBus screens? One thing I've noticed is that the new Stagecoach iBus' do not show additional information on their screens, such as the Go Ahead, RATP and Abellio ones showing the '5 minutes to _' station or a preview of how far the route has gone. It's literally a normal iBus screen just that it's LCD and that's pretty much it.

The RATP ones also differ from the Go Ahead and Abellio ones in the sense they seem to constantly just display the route map while the other two operators scroll through information. Arriva and Metroline also have a similar situation to Stagecoach.

It looks like the correct LJ24 ZNU is now being carried.
