I’ve seen the SL3’s LTs on tow so many times, probably more than literally any other route including the ones I’ve lived near for 15-ish years despite the route not even being 1 My last sighting of one was in Mottingham going in the direction of Eltham/Bromley a few weeks ago Apparently V’s maintenance on them was absolutely shocking when they had them, so it’s probably not surprising they’re in pretty poor condition. Glad theyre only temporary anyway, absolutely wretched buses and the SL3 is an absolutely brilliant route. The SL3 doesn’t deserve LTs😂 can’t wait to see the new E400EV for it Is this actually true? I have seen in said here many times but do question if they really would have let maintenance slip that much? I don’t recall that many subs when RATP was using them before they moved. They would have probably had to be even hotter on maintenance as they are TfL assets and probably had to be returned in a certain condition.

Yep, believe Stagecoach even referred to their poor inherited condition in a staff comm.

Does anyone actually know what happened to LT131 - it hasnt seen service since Janurary with RATP - so is it still with them or being used for spares or smth?

We got a message on our internal Blink system from the 86 Route Champion that a new ibus system will be trialled. Any updates I will let you know. I can probably guess but what does a route champion do?

257's absence from Walthamstow seems to have been extended to October. Absolute joke.

It is due to stand space available at the Central. No idea why the 257 was chosen to be curtailed tho. Hope it does not curtail to T garage permanently especially as it will soon convert to EVs.

I can probably guess but what does a route champion do? If I am correct, I assume a route champion is the "spokesperson"? Basically like a route leader, for example you can approach if you have any suggestions for the route. My old man actually was the one for his rota back in the days, that is how I know. But other members can give a more detailed reply.

257's absence from Walthamstow seems to have been extended to October. Absolute joke. What is actually going on? How can none of the other routes have been altered? Temporary crossing lights got installed at the back of station. To do this one stand was removed. For some reason instead of maximising the rest of the stands some which rarely get used 257 was shifted out. By deduction that route makes sense. The question was 'What is going to change from the date of original change to August that will enable the 257 to return?'. We know via another paper that there are design plans to make permanent arrangements later in the year but this did not explain how 257 was going to return in August. Then I heard that the 257 timetable will change to ensure fewer buses would be at Walthamstow. Then the question is why the timetable was not changed immediately in March? So that was the point I realised this was all lies and made no sense and was expecting this to happen. It was such an arbitrary date as well.

I find it odd that the timetable makes no mention of such a significant place in regards to Finsbury Park yeah I thought it going to stop at Finsbury Park station nearby but sounds like, TfL refuse for 310 to stop nearby when there is many other bus routes already service there by the station. Yet another reason why this is such a stupid idea, but this is TfL.

Does the 257 have a new stand to use after 8pm each day or does it stand wherever is free? I assume the temporary crossing is related to other works in the bus station or nearby?

No fewer than six E400s out on the SL3 as I write. Are TB having problems with the LTs? I’m going to be generous and suggest the more problematic LTs are being kept off the road during the school holidays when we have more spare deckers around. I am aware that spare parts are becoming increasingly difficult to come by as well That said, I’ve driven four different LTs in the last few days that had no issues whatsoever which, believe me, has been very rare over the last few months. Our engineering team are doing very well to keep things going as they are Apparently V’s maintenance on them was absolutely shocking when they had them, so it’s probably not surprising they’re in pretty poor condition. Glad theyre only temporary anyway, absolutely wretched buses and the SL3 is an absolutely brilliant route. The SL3 doesn’t deserve LTs😂 can’t wait to see the new E400EV for it Our engineers were genuinely shocked at the condition the majority of the batch were in - as I said up there, they’ve performed miracles in keeping the things going as much as they have. I think we’re all looking forward to the new buses arriving!

I think we’re all looking forward to the new buses arriving! When you mean ‘condition’, what specifically was so shocking about them from a mechanical perspective? Externally they look admittedly ‘okay’ and fairly presentable to passengers, but a lot goes on underneath!! I’m intrigued as a non mechanic
