While, W14 has updated announcements, the W12 and W13 have not! Both still announce: W12 to Wanstead is meant to be W12 to Woodford Bridge W13 to Leytonstone is meant to be W13 to Leyton Asda Interesting! Given what's happened at TFL this week I think we can give them a pass for now

On the 4th September marked 30 years of Stagecoach East London and Stagecoach Selkent. This was the first main London Buses Ltd subsidiary to be sold off as privatisation started. Although the 30th anniversary of Stagecoach EL/SK, it was not really a 30-year celebration of the operation, as it had been divested to Macquarie in 2006-10. The only former LBL company never to have directly changed hands is London Central, still with GA. Even here, a change has happened in that GA plc was taken over by Kinetic / Globalvia in 2022.

There are some videos online of some rather shocking behaviour of enthusiasts on the 549 this evening! These youngsters need to understand they are using a bus that’s in service and not a party bus for their personal enjoyment. I dead to think what tomorrow will be like! Glad I didn’t need to do the last bus, since I already got the much better 36037 / DAS1 on it in August haha It is weird to think 36261, a bus that I’ve rode numerous times on the 296 over the years since its always been at NS till now, randomly was the last 549 lol Even the Tabloids picked up on this unruly behaviour hopefully it's calmer this morning

I always thought Centrewest was the first sale to complete. The "Privatising London's Buses" book has the dates as 2nd Sept for Centrewest and 6th Sept for East London and Selkent.
Anyway, happy belated birthday to Stagecoach London.

I could not remember which was the first to be sold. All I remember it was around the 4th I saw it being announced on the evening news London Today (ITV), was a sad day for me.

I remember it well when it started in March 1989. It was the final phase of the Walthamstow area changes that started in 1988 which saw a major revamp of services. It was more frequent, warmer buses and reliable than the 206 when it started. I lived in Woodford Bridge when I was a kid and remember when the 206 and 275 were LT Leyland Nationals and Titans dual door respectively. When it all changed from privatisation, the retainer Nationals but in a completely different guise in respect of single door for both the 206 and and 275 (leyland nationals and Bristol DD) whicy lasted for a few years until the 206 was absorbed into the 'W' era with Mercedes bread vans. It's bizarre which I have mentioned in previous posts that the W12 now almost replicates the old 206, the only real difference is that that old 206 went as far as Chigwell Station. In the next few hours, it's going to be interesting how these changes work out. And the 206 did not go into the hospital grounds as no bus did then.

It's quite confusing as the W13 extension from Leytonstone to Leyton Mills and the whole W14 route has no live departures. Also the W12/W13 hasn't been updated on iBus so the wrong/old destinations are shown on live countdown and it's all a bit of a mess. It doesn't help that on the TfL website the information for each route haven't been updated although there is a page with a list of changes that you can search for. I think there should at least be a status alert on each of the affected routes. There is information displayed on bus stops with a confusing map showing the old and new routes all overlayed on each over.

I was looking at an old Out & About guide yday and still for the life of me could work out the new routes. The W13 is easy as it simply takes on part of the W14 but the others I still couldn't work out.
