The solos on the W9 are due for withdrawal once the route passes to Metroline in 11 days time Which makes you wonder why they have kept the one example from the W12. I wonder if it’s just short term? Maybe it will go once other buses become spare. The W9 buses are based at Walthamstow Avenue, with drivers from Ash Grove, given they aren't anyways changing allocation until Metroline gets the W9, it makes sense to keep the solos for now until Metroline takes over W9 on the 21st, after that they may allocate one of the classic e200s or the MMCs as the engineering spare after the 21st and officially withdraw the solos after that.

36608 makes the move to BK, strange they moved the 15 reg rather than the spare 68 reg, I’d imagine a 68 reg now becomes part of the 499 allocation. Probably looking to spread the unreliability out 😂
On a serious note, I wonder if potentially a few more may move over to BK to oust the E200s there putting BK fully MMC as all the SDs there are contracted MMCs.

The W9 buses and drivers are all at HK not Walthamstow, The extra solo is just backup for the smaller buses in case needed.

Purely due to size - covering refurbs for the 462, 167 and 362 - the 10.8m are not ideal hence a smaller 10.4 is better. Will return home once the refurbs are complete, and the 2 x classic E200s will move to the next refurb project.

Not sure if it's been posted but the new e400ev tfl spec will be shown in London for the first time at Bromley garages open day 14th September.

When I looked at the reg I was very confused as I though it had a duplicate reg with TUK’s 2533 😂 … but 2533 is YX and 33608 is YY!

Following on from the discussion on the Metroline thread, I will need to confess that older buses are much more interesting.
I do love the Hybrids on the 56 excluding the interior.
My question is are the 56 & 205/other 2014 Hybrids not exactly the same? Seems to me they behave a tad different.

The difference should be that the LX61s at T should be euro 5 and the 2014 & newer hybrids onward are euro 6 If i remember correctly

TFL do say however that everything is now modified to Euro 6.

Yeah true every TFL bus is Euro 6 trapped nowadays, obviously the original different engine sounds etc though are basically the same since they were new

I may take a trip further into Surrey tomm. I know for a fact around Woking, Stagecoach have many pre 2014 buses.

Back in 2011 we probably saw the new 11-reg E400s as very plain and boring, now I definitely see them as having character. Riding them on the D7 I do see a lot of similarities between these and the old Tridents when they were the same age. Very similar engine noise with loud voiths as they age, slightly worn lazzerini beach ball seats, similarly shaped windows. We certainly didn’t see them as that when they were new. Ditto the 2014 E40Hs new to the 205 (tbf I’ve always like that particular batch of vehicles), they make these amazing whooshing noises now and absolutely fly. Also vehicles we probably thought were completely characterless when they came out: the 64-reg 109 MMCs! They’re certainly not anymore with the similar whooshing hybrid noises. And finally another set of vehicles I think have developed a lot of character: the 15-reg Volvo B5LH / ADL MMCs with Stagecoach and Go-Ahead (EHVs in GAL’s case). Now they’re rare they’re very popular buses in the enthusiast community

There’s a Streetdeck from the 97 allocation parked outside NS, looks very odd see ex TT bus outside NS. I mistook it for an Electroliner to begin with.
Wonder if it may take a trip on the 86 to give the people of Romford that sluggish StreetDeck experience.

My fave B5LHs gotta be the Arriva G2s like on the 29.
