Wouldn’t they just be T’s like the T’s on the 279. Arriva London could win 217 WN Hybrids 298 AD W9 at E Unless the 217’s breaks Arriva is going to be a wait until the 217 is up for tender (its contract ends in 2029).

I can officially and gladly confirm, type training for the ES at TH will start on Tuesday 11th June The final countdown is on for the T’s then! As much as I’m excited to see the ES’s enter service it’ll be sad to see the T’s go, still remember those when they were new - especially the 250’s batch! Meanwhile, did someone confirm the fleetcodes for the 255’s new Wright GB Kite Electroliners? Someone did post something but then later found out it was from a very unreliable source, and I’m not sure if someone else then confirmed it. Would be useful to add to my contracts changes list .

I know you must be pleased for the 64 to officially receive it's new buses and clearing out it's Ts Aren't some of the 64's batch operating on other routes temporarily? They're at BN adding to the pool of ESs available for the 417 but could easily be sent back without issue assuming there is space at TH

So it’s just 7 years without 2 year extension only the 5 year contracts are allowed 2 year extension? Yes that's correct. The last 5 year contracts including the possibility of an extension were the 125, 235, 55, 335, 432, 415, U5, most of which have been handed back. Routes like the 13, 111, 433 are on fixed 7 year contracts as they started their new contracts after 6th April 2022. The 304 is the exception to the rule, being a contract due to start in 2018 which was delayed until 2022 and has now been handed back. Any contract which started after 6th April 2022 cannot receive a 2 year extension, regardless of the performance or contract length. However, it has been mentioned that the recent 6 year contracts (P4, 380, 309, 388, 272, 440, 237 etc) can receive a one year extension if the current electrification deadline of 2030 is pushed back, or if they convert to electric operation mid-tender due to losses of other electric routes on tender. I dont think there is a specific condition on the year extension for 6 year contracts. It is simply both parties agreeing one year in advance of initial contract end date. In theory, if the deadline was extended then TfL could decline the extension and then have a three year contract for some routes to 2033.

Of course, it'll have to be by mutual agreement, but it would almost certainly only be considered by TfL in either of the scenarios I listed.

Had a smashed front window near drivers cab and broken headlights!
