I think Lower Sydenham gets quite a raw deal with no direct link to Lewisham since the 108B in 1991 and only the x20 minutes 356 to Forest Hill. I did wonder about rerouting either the 176 or 197 via Lower Sydenham or withdrawing the 40 north of Elephant & Castle and extending it to Lower Sydenham and onto Beckenham replacing part of the 194. Another oddity is that Lawrie Park Road has two routes neither of which serve the main part of Sydenham or Lower Sydenham. Could switch the 194 and 197 routings so the 194 runs along Lawrie Park Road then to Lower Sydenham and the 197 operate via Penge East and Newlands Park then Cobbs Corner and normal line of route to Peckham. Would give a link from St Christopher's to Lower Sydenham and Beckeham/Elmers End but also bring one of the Dulwich routes a bit more into Sydenham town centre. Possibly although Newlands Park and Parish Lane would lose their link to Lower Sydenham Sainsbury's. It's a bit ridiculous that St Christopher's has no link to the main part of Sydenham and it would be a very awkward change of bus. Historically I don't think Lawrie Park Road has ever had a link to the main part of Sydenham 12/12A/312 and I think it's something that needs to be rectified.

Cobbs corner isn't a million miles though really from the rest of Sydenham in fairness but yes Lawrie Park Road has very much been centred around the historical route 12 link which has been run in various guises over the years. I have to say I'm half surprised the 176 hasn't been retracted out of the area over the years and that in the central London consultation the 12/40/176/185 weren't looked at more.

It is perhaps surprising that the 176 hasn't been cut back and it could probably be argued that one route is sufficient for Lawrie Park Road but all the time there is two it does seem a bit wasteful for them to duplicate each other between Penge and Dulwich when one of them could be put to better use. Likewise the 194 and 358 duplicate each other between Penge and Eden Park.

It does provide some local links such as to East Dulwich and Camberwell Green.

398: Revised to operate between Uxbridge, Vine Street and South Harrow Station via route U1 between Vine Street and Uxbridge, route U2 from Uxbridge to Hillingdon, 278 to Ruislip and route N518 between Ruislip and Northolt Park. The route would then run along Northolt Road to terminate at South Harrow Station.
258: Extended from South Harrow to Northolt Park, Wood End via current route 398. This rnsures that local users are stil able to be connected to South Harrow and with the hopper fare, won't be charged extra for switching onto routes 114/398.
Let me know what you think of these, I originally was going yo extend the 398 wholly via the U1 to West Drayton, but that made the route much too long hence why I came up with this instead.
This would run at an increased 3bph frequency as opposed to the 398's current 2ph frequency.

Central London restructure ideas - including some routes that have been discussed recently:
Routes 11, 35, 45, 211, 345 and 436
11 - Revised to operate between Waterloo and Hammersmith via Fulham Road (as per the old 211), restoring the link from Fulham Road to Victoria.
211 - Withdrawn, replaced by revised 11 and 436.
436 - Withdrawn between Lewisham and Peckham Bus Station. Extended from Battersea Park to Fulham Broadway, via the 211 to Chelsea then the 11 (via Harwood Road).
35 - Revised to operate between Clapham Junction and Lewisham Shopping Centre, via the current route to Camberwell then the 436.
45 - Kept between Clapham Park and Elephant, and extended to Shoreditch via the 35. Route 118 unchanged.
345 - Withdrawn between Peckham and Camberwell.
Routes 27, 30, 94, 148, 205 and 274
148 - Withdrawn, replaced by revised 94 and existing route 12.
94 - Withdrawn between Piccadilly Circus and Marble Arch, instead extended via the 148 to County Hall, terminating either at Waterloo (ex-521 stand) or Elephant & Castle (45 stand).
84 - New route between Hammersmith and Kings Cross (Canal Reach), via Kensington Olympia, Kensington High Street, Notting Hill Gate, Lancaster Gate, Marble Arch, Baker Street and Euston. Creating various new links, including restoring the ex-10/23 link from Kensington to Marble Arch.
274 - Cut back to Marble Arch.
30 - Withdrawn between Marble Arch and Baker Street, instead extended to Paddington via the 205.
205 - Withdrawn between Paddington and Euston. Possible extension east of Bow Church.
27 - Re-extended along Chiswick High Road to Turnham Green or Gunnersbury, restoring links across Hammersmith. Withdrawn between Chalk Farm and Baker Street. Route 88/274 maintain links to Camden.
Routes 17, 22, 43, 88, 134, 390 and W7
390 - Withdrawn. Replaced by revised 17/22/134 and existing route 73.
17 - Diverted between Kings Cross and Archway via the 390.
22 - Diverted between Sloane Square and Hyde Park Corner via Victoria (as per TFL's 311 proposal). Extended from Oxford Circus to Kings Cross Station, via Great Portland Street and Euston. Creating some new links, including replacing parts of the 390 and restoring some of the C2's links.
88 - Diverted between Great Portland Street and Camden Town via Warren Street Station and Hampstead Road.
134 - Withdrawn between Warren Street and Camden Town, and instead extended to Oxford Circus via the 88. Replaces the 390's link from Archway and Tufnell Park to Oxford Street. Also withdrawn between North Finchley and Friern Barnet.
W7 - Extended from Muswell Hill to North Finchley via the 134. To create some new links, while allowing the 43/134 to run more reliably.
43 - Cut back to Muswell Hill.

Central London restructure ideas - including some routes that have been discussed recently: 30 - Withdrawn between Marble Arch and Baker Street, instead extended to Paddington via the 205. 205 - Withdrawn between Paddington and Euston. Possible extension east of Bow Church. Surely just cut the 30 back to Euston rather than needlessly fiddling around with the 205 in the process? It's probably a lot more important the 205 is what continues to Paddington as it's the only remaining link Paddington has to the eastern part of Central London such as Liverpool Street and Aldgate.

Your 345 withdrawal breaks local links along Stockwell & Clapham Roads so for me, it’s a non starter. Not my area but the W7 has a particular purpose and should be left as it is.

Every time I board a 136 to or from college, its always rammed and unreliable. So in my own opinion, the 436 must continue to serve Lewisham.

If Oxford Street is pedestrianised it may well be that the 94 and 148 are merged. I'm not sure about the 84, wouldn't it just duplicate the 27 between Hammersmith and NHG if I'm understanding it correctly? Wouldn't it be simpler to curtail the 30 at Euston and leave the 205 as it is? The problem with the 22/311 idea is buses would be arriving at Victoria sometimes well loaded. I'm a bit dubious about the 43/W7 idea.

Your 345 withdrawal breaks local links along Stockwell & Clapham Roads so for me, it’s a non starter. Not my area but the W7 has a particular purpose and should be left as it is. Routes 27, 30, 94, 148, 205 and 274: why not, always a big fan of any proposal restoring the 10 (more or less). Worth bearing in mind the ex-521 stand at Waterloo will likely be removed. But as others have said, the 205 is best left alone!
Routes 17, 22, 43, 88, 134, 390 and W7: For the 22, yes, agreed, a through route through Mayfair is the only way that corridor will ever get a decent passenger load (rather than one just terminating at Oxford Circus). Via Victoria will be useful, already quite practical today with the diversion NB to use it as an alternative to Oxford Circus from Grovesnor Gardens. I think this mimics the 390 via Berkeley Square/73 via Berkeley Square that we've seen proposed quite a lot recently which I agree with.
134. Why not too. Creates some interesting links. Though there is likely UCH hospital link that would need to be mitigated as the 134 seems to be popular anecdotally from people travelling from the hospital.
43/134/W7. I feel that there'd be a big mismatch in demand between the existing Fin Park <-> Muswell Hill section and your proposed section.

Central London restructure ideas - including some routes that have been discussed recently: Routes 11, 35, 45, 211, 345 and 43611 - Revised to operate between Waterloo and Hammersmith via Fulham Road (as per the old 211), restoring the link from Fulham Road to Victoria.
30, 27 and 205 proposals are fantasy. The 27 is the busiest out of the three, it carries so so much, it would be extremely uncanny to remove it. The 27 and the 29 are the two busiest. The 88 has only increased in demand as it has replaced the C2 to be honest, and even that is an assistant to the 27. As well as the 205, JAM PACKED. It would be wiser to withdraw the 30 to Euston in your proposals, but even that would sound unfathomable. If anything another route should mirror KX-Baker Street (extending the 18). The 274 is quieter but very busy on Fri-Sun on that London Zoo sectiom fr Camden to Selfridges.
