If you reroute the 230 to Stratford then the 230 just mirrors the 69 half the way, thereby making the 69 pretty meaningless between Stratford and Walthamstow. Not to mention the 257 also runs between Stratford and Walthamstow Central. Unless you’re planning to extend 69 further down south than Canning Town and curtail it to Stratford then I’m against your 230 extension. 158 is very popular throughout its route and people take it long distances. Also with the idea you made it would mean Tottenham - Blackhorse Road would see an almighty bus increase for two areas that have a tube link for one stop. 230 is a shadow of itself. Poor interchange at Blackhorse Road, W11 now duplicating it between Walthamstow-Blackhorse Rd and it now being 15min route. That is a route that could do with some changes. You could send it down Markhouse Road, and then LBR, LBR station, Orient Way (limited stops) and the Stratford City via 308. This would avoid Walthamstow Central though. However, I would not do that and would simply scrap 310 and bring in a SL route between Meridian Water, Tottenham Hale, Stamford Hill, Clapton, LBR station, Orient Way, Stratford City. That is to have that connection. However, again, my preference has been for SL route to go from Meridian Water to Elephant & Castle via mainly 149. It doesn’t really matter if there is a bus increase between Blackhorse Road and Tottenham Hale especially because of these new housing developments around Tottenham. Either way, if 158’s proposed change was to happen then Blackhorse Road would be directly linked to Meridian Water as well instead of changing buses at Tottenham Hale Bus Station.

It will go from about 22bph to about 62bph from your suggestions (both directions). I think that matters.

I agree about the 178 being extended to Thamesmead, the 301 would be left as a very short route and could possibly be replaced by extending the 269 to Thamesmead. I can see some merit in your suggested rerouting of the 89 but I suspect there would be a lot of opposition to the loss of the Lewisham link. Personally I wouldn’t extend the 269 to Thamesmead. I’d rather extend the 301 via the 229 to Queen Mary’s Hospital & cut the 229 back to Bexleyheath in this scenario. The 229’s reliability would improve as it does take the very long way via Erith to get to Thamesmead. Extending the 301 won't give it any merit, in fact it will only make it a long, unwieldy route. 229 is meant to be an unwieldy route, it's purpose is to practically serve (almost) everywhere around the Bexley Borough. If you want a direct link between Thamesmead and Erith I'd extend the 428 to Thamesmead via Bronze Age Way - however most people would want to travel to either Bexleyheath or Woolwich from Erith rather than Thamesmead, which is why 229 is the only option between the 2 places.

New bus route changes around the SE London area that I think would be beneficial -
54 - Withdrawn between Catford Garage and Elmers End. See 199.
126 - extended to Woolwich via Westmount Road, Rochester Way, Well Hall Road, Academy Road. Brings new links from Woolwich to Bromley and Grove Park.
178 - extended to Thamesmead, Carlyle Road from Woolwich via Plumstead and 472 line of route and onto Carlyle Road - brings a new link from Thamesmead to Kidbrooke and Lewisham.
199 - extended to Elmers End replacing the 54 route. I believe the 54s main section is the Woolwich - Catford Section - 54 is prone to a lot of traffic around Blackheath and Catford areas and to improve reability, I'd implement this change. Most people who would want to travel between Elmers End would come from Lewisham and the perfect route to extend would be the 199.
428 - extended from Erith to Thamesmead Retail Park via Bronze Age Way.
451 - new route from Queen Mary's Hospital to Woolwich - running via Shooters Hill, Welling,(near Falconwood) Blackfen, Penhill Road and Sidcup Station. To support the 244 between Woolwich and Shooters Hill as it does get packed from that point onwards. Also to connect Herbert Road and the estates ro Welling.

A few ideas in the Enfield area: 107 - Extended from New Barnet to Chase Farm Hospital via current 307 routing to Slades Hill then turn left onto The Ridgeway to terminate at the hospital. Provides the link to the hospital from the Barnet area which people seem to have been after for years. Slight frequency increase if required. 121 - Turnpike Lane Station to Brimsdown Station. Diverted after Ponders End to follow current 307 routing. Makes route shorter and reduces delays caused by the level crossing at Enfield Lock. See 421. 192 - Withdrawn between Meridian Water (Station/Tesco - not sure what its known as these days!) and Tottenham Hale. See new Superloop route below. 307 - Withdrawn, replaced by changes to 107, 121 and new Superloop route below. NEW ROUTE 421- Enfield Town to Enfield Island Village. Replaces 121 over this section, although delays will still be experienced they become more localised which would hopefully improve reliability. Same frequencies as current 121. NEW SUPERLOOP ROUTE - Barnet Hospital to Tottenham Hale, calling at the following points: High Barnet Station, New Barnet Station, East Barnet Village, Cat Hill Roundabout, Oakwood Station, Enfield Town/Church Street, Southbury Road/Great Cambridge Road, Great Cambridge Road/Church Street, Edmonton Green Station, Angel Corner, Meridian Water Station/Tesco then all stops to Tottenham Hale Station. Replaces 307 over Barnet Hospital section, assists 107 between Barnet and Oakwood, creates new faster link between Enfield and Edmonton and replaces 192 over section to Tottenham Hale. Operated by DD's every 12 minutes. Would the 107 possibly become too long?

95: extended from Shepherds Bush to Hammersmith via Uxbridge Road, Holland Park Roundabout, Holland Road, Kensington High Street and route 9 to Hammersmith. To create round the corner links.

Would the 107 possibly become too long? If the M25 clogs up it can cause problems for the 107 further down the line The journey time from New Barnet to Chase Farm isn't too long and I don't think traffic levels between the 2 places are that bad. Obviously if there is trouble on the M25 then that could cause problems but those problems spread to most routes in the area.

Some Ladbroke Grove Changes If RAPT not lose the route 452 withdrawn Between Kensal Rise and Ladbroke Grove Sainsburys and extend to Westbourne Park Garage via 23 and the same time extend ever 295 to Kensal Rise or extend 302 to Ladbroke Grove Sainsburys this to free up space

For e.g. if 487 was extending up, passengers could use it as an alternative to the 483 if they want to access Ealing and can switch at Hanger Lane for 112/226/483 to Ealing. It would also mean passengers of this potential "392" could change at Sudbury Hill with the 92 to access areas such as Greenford and Ealing. That can't happen though, there's no space at Harrow.

They meant, if 452 isn't lost bt RATP, it should be extended via the 23 to X, with the 295 extended to Kensal Rise OR the 302 extended down to Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury's. I personally think if anything were to happen, the 452 should return to its old stand but that's just me.
