I'm not a fan of having all these changes, can't we just keep most routes as they are? I don't think people would want to come back to find that there has been major changes to the network.

I think we'll see some small shifts in work travel/patterns but, as much as I'd like there to be, I don't believe there'll be any major/seismic shifts in travel patterns that will be so drastic that it will lead to the bus network needing to be ripped up.

I really think it would be better off, with route 10 via Goodge Street and Warren Street instead of British Museum and Russel Square? I think that the 390 should run via British Museum but cutback to Oxford Circus also and have the 73 extended to Victoria?

The 73 serves housing and alot of stations whereas the 390 just serves housing and housing past Kings Cross only serving Tufnell Park and Archway stations.

Disagree entirely - many travel habits will likely return as will congestion which straight away invalidates any need to reinstate long routes. These long routes nowadays are only doable as part of a event, not part of network in a heavily congested city.

Totally agree. I think life will return to excatly as it was before if not with even mroe people travelling to do all the things they have missed doing. By all means reduce the services even more then now whilst the lockdown is on but once it's over all routes should return of old freqs.

I agree. Another thing which irritates me is the proposals which seek to tamper with numerous routes just for the sake of withdrawing one route, but the withdrawn route is often only covered in broken sections by the kind of tampering proposals I'm referring to.

And sorry if this sounds harsh but maybe you need to lose the idea that the current bus network isn't broken, well not all of it obviously, but one of the criticisms I often hear is that much of the network just hasn't kept up with changes in society. Just a thought.

And sorry if this sounds harsh but maybe you need to lose the idea that the current bus network isn't broken, well not all of it obviously, but one of the criticisms I often hear is that much of the network just hasn't kept up with changes in society. Just a thought.

Obviously tweaks here & there are needed but certainly the vast majority works very well and it seems others agrees although of course, by your own words, there are no right or wrong answers?

The original question wasn’t from a financial point of view and if you use finance as the only rule, then you’d have a terrible network in place instead and then what.

Nothing ever stays the same. Things will change for the good or better. You have to ask yourself the people who wants change are they doing it for the good or for the better? A major change is bad like we had a few years ago is bad but what is wrong with a little changes that fixes the bad changes of previous years. How are we to move on if we don’t have change? Why should we lose this idea of change? Or shall we just stay the same and have things not change. Is the current bus network really that perfect? I think that it’s broken and needs to change. Like for example we have a single decker route the 218 that has replaced a section of a double deck route 266 and now people in Walthamstow don’t have a direct bus to London Bridge.

Oh right I see what you mean. So I agree it doesn’t need a major change but it does need a few tweaks.
