Just a small one 131 extended to the Charlmont Road (Tooting, The Mitre) bus stand. This reduces the pressure on the Longley Road stand, where there are often many buses making it hard to manoeuvre and it means that the 131 has stops on Mitcham Road, which it currently doesn't. Just looked at Google Maps, surprised that there are actually 2 separate 1-bus stands there! 280 extended to Garrat Lane, Wimbledon Road stand. This reduces the pressure on the St Georges Hospital stand, which is often overflowing, meaning that traffic (including ambulances) have difficulty getting past. Buses would run in both directions via Tooting High Street & Blackshaw Road until Fountain Road, onto which buses will turn, then left onto Garrat Lane, then left onto Wimbledon Road to the stand. Then from stand, left onto Blackshaw Road back towards hospital. This ensures that the link to the Hospital & Tooting High Street is maintained. Circle indicates main/popular bus stops (not all are listed, and may be slightly off), Rectangle indicates stand, Arrow indicates direction of travel (if no arrow, then buses go in both directions) View AttachmentI like this idea, it isn't unrealistic, and could lead to something beneficial, although I'm not sure of how it may affect the reliability on the routes as Tooting can get quite congested (at least, it was in December, when I last went, especially with LTN's). By the way, on Charlmont Road, there are 3 stands (one at the beginning, middle and end), but one doesn't seem to have a post indicating it, just the road markings. The Wimbledon Road stand may need a slight extension, though, as I think a one bus space might not suffice for the 280. 1) Believe yhe LTN's have been removed, so traffic shouldn't be too bad, there is also a bus lane which helps. Though Garrat Lane might be a problem, however the 280 already uses the other part, so traffic should be similar? 2) 3 stands! The others are often full yet there are 3 spaces here with no routes? Makes no sense 3) Knew there was something I forgot to write lol, I was thinking about that in my head whilst writing the post

New Proposal: Extend the 460 from North Finchley to Friern Barnet retail park via 134.
The 460 provides great links as it stands and just a short extension to the retail park will bring many new links for residents as it is currently unserved and warranting a connection.

41/N41: extended from Tottenham Hale to Angel Road Superstores via route 192 to Angel Road Superstores. To assist the 192 and to link Turnpike Lane with Angel Road Superstores. 367: running between Tottenham Hale Station and Chalk Farm via route 76 to Tottenham High Road, route 259 to Holloway, route 29 to Camden Town and 27 to Chalk Farm. To link Tottenham Hale with Finsbury Park and to link Finsbury Park with Chalk Farm.

Nonetheless a good idea. Finsbury Park to Tottenham Hale is done by the Tube and the 259 from a walking distance.

The 444 already provides a link between Turnpike Lane and the Angel Road superstores, albeit with a walk across a footbridge to contend with for the outbound journey. The 41 has turned into a bit of a pain with routine snarlups to contend with at Turnpike Lane and Seven Sisters, but I think the extension up to Angel Road would be managable. I don't think there is enough going on in Chalk Farm (as opposed to Camden Town) to merit a direct link between there and Finsbury Park. The Morrisons is a useful local draw, but anyone 'up the road' can use the one at the Nags Head. I can see merit in a link between the Finsbury Park/7SR and the leisure/retail pull in Tottenham Hale and Angel Road (any self respecting young housesharer/late 20something young professional couple has to get a walk in round the Walthamstow Wetlands on a nice Sunday, perhaps while on the way to IKEA to buy some picture frames). For all the demographic shifts going in in N London the streets off the full length of Seven Sisters Road are still quite young/rentery, for now at least. The 341 does this already to an extent.

When people shop, they expect a service near the door so they can easily access it. Needing to walk with shopping (albeit from a store like IKEA where shopping would likely be heavier) is not attractive to punters. I can't speak for that IKEA, but Brent Park IKEA has a good selection of services that serve the actual superstores and they are very well used because of that - but there should be better links into areas such as Stonebridge/Blackbird Hill because despite being so close, they are very badly served by buses towards the IKEA. Definitely right on the 41 though - it definitely snarls up a lot however even for a service off peak - to do the journey end to end it's 40 minutes which I think is way too high - it'd be better off with a 30-35 minute end to end schedule off peak.

The 280 will be harder. I agree the hospital stand can be hard to get around vehicles but the traffic on Tooting High Street which the 57, 493, etc. regularly go through and even on Blackshaw Road (which the current 280 still gets stuck in) will be problematic if this were to be implemented, especially pre and probably post Covid where the 280 was very busy and benefitted from directly going to the Hospital.

The walk from the front doors of IKEA to the 444 stop back towards Turnpike Lane is around 150 yards longer than that to the 341 stop. The hard bit is the footbridge when arriving by 444 to shop, as that bus stop is on the wrong side of the A406! Getting your wares out of the IKEA at Brent Park to the buses involves a journey through the multi storey car park section, though at least you can use an IKEA trolley to do this. Speaking as someone who has done both! There isn't actually much difference between all three journeys in terms of checkout-to-bus-door travel distance, but I suppose it is the psychology of leaving the site vs hauling it all a distance while still being within the grounds. The problem with IKEA is that public transport users are a distant second with most of their sites, set in car-dominated retail parks with an expectation that most bulk items will leave in cars or vans, and rejigging things to accomodate foot arrivals better is seen as too expensive to be worthwhile (I haven't been to Greenwich yet to try theirs). But their stuff is cheap, so as a punter you deal with the economies in the package. Try dragging a load of shopping out of Costco in Chingford by foot! The 41 has been a local route since year dot and I do everything I reasonably can to avoid using it. But if it went to IKEA.. for light things, I might just use it.

Just an idea for a Bromley North to Norwood Junction route involving the splitting of the 367.
New route 342 - Running from Bromley North to Beckenham via route 367, then via Croydon Road, Long Lane, Spring Lane, Birchanger Road, Tenison Road, South Norwood High Street and Norwood Junction Station.
The 342 will link Bromley, Beckenham and Elmers End with South Norwood.
The 367 will be withdrawn between Beckenham and Bromley, although I'm not exactly sure if there is any stand space available.
The 119 will remain as a direct link from Bromley to Croydon, possibly with a frequency increase.

Route 251 - Withdrawn between Betstyle Circus & Arnos Grove and diverted to Wood Green via Route 221. This would
- Introduce new links between Wood Green Shopping City & Brunswick Park & Whetstone.
- Better accessibility to and from New Southgate Station
- Would help support the 221. I would also include a DD conversion as it is a very busy route, particularly pre COVID.

I don’t think we need yet another route to Wood Green. The 251 would be more viable extended to Palmers Green along unserved roads
