I going be like tfl now by making route more longer like 88 and 110 36 extend back to Hither Green via 225 passing Lewisham and Catford The 225 doesn't go via Catford. It might be possible if the Paddington to Queens Park section was replaced by something else but even then the frequencies would be vastly different.

Route 244 (around QE Hosp): rerouted via Charlton Park Lane in order to end in the 291/469 stand Route 244 (around Plumstead Common/Woolwich Common): rerouted via Burrage Road
Route 380: extended to Thamesmead via 244 Route 386: rerouted via current 244 routing along Nightingale Place
Route 486: rerouted via Cemetery Lane and Charlton Park Lane The 386 used to run via Nightingale Lane but iBus got confused as it runs from Ha Ha Road before Herbert Road. Swapped with the then 178 which was later replaced by the 244. The 380 provides a useful service in West Thamesmead. The 244 is heavily loaded from Woolwich to Nightingale Lane. Burrage Road is too narrow for two way bus services at the top of the road. Not many passengers from Cemetery Lane (it's called that for a good reason) and that stretch of Charlton Park Lane (also beside the cemetery). This compares with lots of soldiers wand others ho use the stop beside the barracks. There is some merit in running the 244 via Academy Road and Ha Ha Road as there are 400 homes on the former Royal Military Academy site.

I don’t understand why these changes would be made. 244: Width restriction on Charlton Park Road would make it impossible for buses to run the length of the road into QE. 380: Why extend to Thamesmead Town Centre? 386: Loss of bus service in Shooters Hill. No more direct services beyond QE. No buses at all for some residents along Herbert Road. 486: Again, why? Removing direct local links to QE without replacement. As a local, I can’t see any benefits to those ideas. A mixed bag I'd say! I felt it was a shame that the width restriction and speed humps were simply put back in Charlton Park Lane after they'd been removed for the 2012 Olympics. I used to have relatives around there who would really have benefited from a bus service. Equally I can see the appeal of speeding up the 486 by using the Olympic routeing. There are no stops on Repository Road so you could reroute the 291 along Hillreach and Cemetery Lane in replacement. A bigger problem might be the loss of a direct link from that section to the shops on Bugsbys Way. There is a heavily used pair of stops in Repository Road by the barracks. Why does Cemetery Lane and that stretch of Charlton Park Lane (without housing because of the cemetery) need buses?

Would really damage the reliability of the route.

Why does Cemetery Lane and that stretch of Charlton Park Lane (without housing because of the cemetery) need buses? The two stops you refer to are so close to the junction with Hillreach/Artillery Place that their removal would be very unlikely to have any material impact. Most of Repository Road -which is longer - is as deserted as Cemetery Lane and has no bus stops. There's no great desire to serve Cemetery Lane, any more than the A102 for example, it's simply a road you go along to get somewhere else, in this case between Charlton and the QE Hospital more quickly and directly than the current route. A tweak to the 291 would retain the otherwise lost link to the QE Hosp from Hillreach, support the 53 between there and Plumstead, and only lose the stops you mention that are within a short walk of others. My interest in Charlton Park Lane is to the west where there are council houses, but again, the bit bordering the park is just somewhere you have to travel past to get somewhere else.

A lot of people use the stops in Little Heath particularly from North Greenwich. The route is popular as it is and there is no need for a diversion. A diversion via Cemetery Lane would mean no stops between Charlton Lane and QE Hospital. This is a very long distance. The 291 was diverted via Repository Road to deliver a route to the hospital from the south as requested by Greenwich Council. Buses are for passengers not serving pointless roads. BTW I use the 486 three or four times a week so I do know where people get on and off.

On a side note I always have found it creepy to have a cemetery next to a hospital. Hopefully no one at tfl thinks about providing a direct link from the hospital to the cemetery

The 244's alighting point is stop H3, not the stand. It should have been obvious what I meant when I said that they terminate at the same place - QE Hospital/West Entrance. You're proposing to reroute the 244 so that it comes to QEH from the north rather than the South, but what is the point in doing that? So that it won't confuse people who don't know that the 244 runs from the other side.

I said I was regretting the decision soon after I guess... 380 extension is a valid idea though as I don't want the route to terminate at a prison.

With the Fri/Sat LO service being reinstated between Highbury & Islington and New Cross Gate.......
N172 4bph Fri/Sat night, New Cross Gate via 172 to Brockley Rise then via 122 to Sydenham. Then 2bph via 122 to Crystal Palace and 2bph via 197 to Anerley then via 75/157 to West Croydon.

Surely just introduce an N172 from New Cross to Crystal Palace and then an N197 from New Cross to Croydon to prevent needless confusion with branches on a bus route.
