With the Fri/Sat LO service being reinstated between Highbury & Islington and New Cross Gate....... N172 4bph Fri/Sat night, New Cross Gate via 172 to Brockley Rise then via 122 to Sydenham. Then 2bph via 122 to Crystal Palace and 2bph via 197 to Anerley then via 75/157 to West Croydon. Surely just introduce an N172 from New Cross to Crystal Palace and then an N197 from New Cross to Croydon to prevent needless confusion with branches on a bus route. Yes could possibly do that although I don't really see why the N172 covering both branches as the trains do should cause confusion. It could be argued that that the 197 number would cause more confusion. Then again as it would basically be a LO rail replacement service perhaps they should be numbered LO1 and LO2? I think the important thing is to provide the service, what it should be numbered is of lesser importance.

I don't get the obsession with introducing these type of working they belong in the past. London passengers can barely read blinds as it is! Funny the member who keeps suggesting these type of routes is the one who goes on about branding etc which wouldn't work with short / different routes depending on the tin of day.

Route 79 extended to White City via Ealing Road, Western Avenue, Old Oak Lane, Uxbridge Road and Ariel Way. PVR changed to 18 and transfer the route to Park Royal (RP) as the extension would probably benefit Park Royal (RP) more than Edgware (BT). Driver changeover point at Park Royal Station.

Too long imo and duplicates the 260 quite a lot. Also I think the reliability would suffer due to the A40 traffic.

Could the 329 be extended to Stoke Newington via current Route 67 currently running every 8 minutes (I know there would be a slight frequency imbalance but I don't think it's worth reducing the Palmers Green to Enfield section to every 10 minutes because that would be too low frequency) with perhaps the other routes along the corridor between Dalston to Stoke Newington left alone and the 67 withdrawn. I know there could be advantages including St Ann's Hospital linked further into North London, however the disadvantage would be loss of link between the St Ann's area & Dalston. The advantages could be cost saving and also stand space opened up at the Dalston end for an extension to either the 263 or D6.
Thoughts?

Route 379 restructured to run between Yardley Lane and South Woodford via Sewardstone Road, Hawkwood Cresent, Drysdale Avenue, Kings Head Hill, Station Road, Beresford Road, Kimberley Road, Whitehall Road, Woodfood Green, Innmans Row, Monkham's Lane, Monkham's Drive, Monkham's Avenue, The Broadway, Charteris Road, Broadmead Road, St Barnabas Road, Latchett Road, Maybank Road, Southend Road, Charlie Browns Roundabout, Chigwell Road and George Lane. Route via Boardman Avenue, Antlers Hill and Yardley Lane withdrawn. PVR changed to 6. A bunch of new fixed bus stops can be installed as well.

As I understand it, the 379's purpose is to bring the people from the residential estates surrounding Chingford including the Yardley Lane Estate into Chingford itself for shopping and for interchange to other buses and the station so what happens to all these people then?

It will still go to Chingford but the bit where it goes up the hill is too tight and I have seen some complaints from residents as well.

The complaints were from a man who tried to claim buses were damaging his house 3 years ago - if they were legit, the route would of changed by now. Yes the roads are narrow but not too tight that buses shouldn't run along there. Furthermore, Waltham Forest should actually discover tarmac and resurface the roads around there as they are dreadful. Whether the rest of the route goes to Chingford is irrelevant - as I understand it, the purpose of the route is to link the estate to Chingford for shopping amenities, interchange with other buses and the Overground. Furthermore, you haven't any given any description for your route idea asides from where it runs and a PVR of 6.

The route would benefit local residents at Beresford Road & Kimberley Road as well as the ones at Woodford Wells to connect to Woodford Station and there's a few shops there as well where no buses are served.

Yes these are the sort of savings TfL should be looking at, also reduces overbussing along the High Road.
