Route 205 - Extended to Leyton, Drapers Field or Stratford International and run a 24 hour service. As if the 205 isn't already long and busy and congested enough

Why would it duplicate the 97?! Stratford Intl to Drapers Field is like 5mins. Plus the 108 and N205 duplicate anyway but via different routings. Yes it’s only a short distance but that begs the question of why the 205 needs to run down there in the first place, other than the fact there is a bus stand at Drapers Field. The N205 runs there to provide the East Village with a link to Central London, a link which is not needed in the daytime. Hello? Stratford City. It would be useful to help control overcrowding.

If you wanted to control overcrowding you might as well send it to Stratford or the 8 to Stratford via the 25. I must say even the 388 is busy on the Stratford end, so I imagine the eastern section shouldn't be reduced like someone suggested.
Also regarding overcrowding, one suggestion I might have would be withdrawing the 357, extending the 215 to Whipps Cross & then increasing the 97 slightly. That would stay relatively cost neutral.

388 busy on the Stratford end? I have yet to see a busy 388!

388 busy on the Stratford end? I have yet to see a busy 388! I was in Stratford recently about the middle of the day and had gone to Stratford City and saw quite busy 388s although this was in the run up to Christmas.

You can’t base observations on casual one offs like that. I appreciate like everyone here you don’t want cuts but an awful lots of your obs suggest every route is rammed solid. Yes lots are but the 388 has been chopped and changed so much and never really gained massive ridership.

The 241 extension to Stratford City is another route that never really built up passenger numbers, hardly anyone stays on a bus from Stratford Bus Station to Stratford City when it’s quicker to walk over the footbridge.

New route idea- medium frequency single deck route. East Sheen, Queens Road to Acton Town Centre (blinded Richmond, Queens Road to avoid confusion)
Via: Sheen Road, Church Road, Richmond Station, Richmond Bus Station, St Margarets, St Margarets Road, Isleworth War Memorial, West Middlesex Hospital, Busch Corner, Brentford Town Centre, Great West Quarter, South Ealing Road, Popes Lane, Acton Town, Acton Town Centre.
Reasons: - New links from West Middlesex Hospital to St Margarets, Richmond and South Ealing. - New link between Brentford and Acton. - Round the corner link between South Ealing and Brentford Town Centre. - New link between St Margarets and Brentford. - Support for the H37 between Richmond and Isleworth.

You are only looking at it from one direction. Towards Stratford City, punters on the 241 alight at the main bus station as it's the same time to walk to Westfield as staying on the 241. However, on the return trip, customers like to hop onto the 241 at Stratford City instead of walk the 4 mins over the bridge. Be it bulky shopping, fatigue from unhealthy fast food; there's certainly more usage of the 241 leaving Stratford City than coming in. By contrast, people on the 308 don't alight in their droves at Stratford bus station for Westfield, though it has to be said passengers on the 308 are more of the elderly variety.

I have observed and used in both directions and never seen huge numbers maybe 5 to 10 boarding at Stratford City. I find Stratford City Bus Station pretty depressing and a faff to get to unless on the ground floor of Westfield.

I get the pandemic has been a long curse plaguing our lives but during the weekends, the 241 saw healthy loadings out of Stratford City in normal times. These still aren't normal times, the bus network has current usage of ~70% of what's considered a "normal" year. Well, that was before BoJo's stay at home order last month. I do not accept that a couple handfuls of passengers on the 241 at Stratford City is the height of the demand. Now maybe, but not pre pandemic levels.

I always observed more passengers alighting at Westfield Avenue on the 388 rather than continuing to Stratford City Bus Station. Westfield Avenue provides a slightly quicker link to the heart of the shopping centre.

Same here although in the opposite direction towards the City of London, I witnessed the 388 leave the bus station with either healthy loads or very busy and to clarify, I'm not talking about a one or two visits - I've visited that place more than I would otherwise want to
