London Assembly meeting tomorrow, including Impact on bus action plan Tomorrow, the London Assembly Transport Committee will investigate several issues: How the agreement will affect Londoners and the implications for services, fares and future investment. The impact on the Bus Action Plan. Whether the extra capital funding is enough to deliver TfL's committed projects. TfL's work on smart road pricing and what revenue could be generated from this. Funding being provided by the Government for Hammersmith Bridge and whether it is sufficient. The shortfall of funding required to complete the Elizabeth Line project in full. www.london.gov.uk/press-releases/assembly/tfl-now-theres-a-deal-what-does-it-mean

So in a nutshell this is this is how much money we have and we need to allocate accordingly.

What a joke this is. Free on everything after 9am and they are Still not happy. Should always have been after 9am to stop it being used by commuters.

Given the over 60s are far more likely to simply get on and pay rather than argue the toss, TfL have stumbled upon a bit of an earner and I can’t see them restoring the Freedom Pass in full. I certainly carry a number of passengers that pay without question in the morning but use a Freedom Pass in the afternoon - multiply that up over all of London’s bus routes and there’s a source of income that TfL won’t give up easily

I’ve always said TfL should have a discounted rate for concessions outside certain hours. Perhaps a half fare outside of predetermined hours.

So its fine for those over 60 who are still working to get a free ride? Personally disagree it used to be 9.30am and everyone never had a problem with it.
Can I shout age discrimination because I am in my 40s and the U16s and over 60s want free travel? why can't I travel free? I say that in jest but seriously makes you wonder how people managed before all this free travel! Sometimes think we are going in the wrong direction but hey.

It is normally from 09:30 here in Wiltshire (until 11pm), so Londoners get half hour head start. Although there is a temporary encourage people back scheme which is anytime in Wiltshire until March 2023 What is even more daft in London is the rush hour now runs bit later, so if anything start time should be later.

I think the same for child fares but that's a whole can of worms!

Should the millionaires son be eligible for free travel? I agree if U16s and 60-OAP get it everyone should ... TfL making arbitrary concessions by age is making a rod for its own back. Surprised it has not had a legal challenge yet. It should just be given to those that are required by law to receive it - basically Freedom Pass holders.
