So its fine for those over 60 who are still working to get a free ride? Personally disagree it used to be 9.30am and everyone never had a problem with it. Can I shout age discrimination because I am in my 40s and the U16s and over 60s want free travel? why can't I travel free? I say that in jest but seriously makes you wonder how people managed before all this free travel! Sometimes think we are going in the wrong direction but hey.
Should the millionaires son be eligible for free travel? I agree if U16s and 60-OAP get it everyone should ... TfL making arbitrary concessions by age is making a rod for its own back. Surprised it has not had a legal challenge yet. It should just be given to those that are required by law to receive it - basically Freedom Pass holders. Yes but the law states a bus pass after 9.30am at age 66. Quite a bit different to London so they would not have much of a leg to stand on.

If one group is arbitrary given free travel before 9 or 9:30, how do you discriminate and say other age groups can't?

Why should over 60s , not demand the same perks as the u16s. Whats fair for one is fair for the other. Blatant age discrimination, which is illegal. Under 16s don't get free travel on tube and national rail in the London area so it's not the same. Makes no difference, legally you are not allowed to discriminate by age ... what do you think TfLs aged based free travel policy is all about ... age discrimination. If they are going to offer free travel perks over and what is required by law, it can not legally be arbitrarily decided by age. Everyone should get the same perks, or noone.

What a joke this is. Free on everything after 9am and they are Still not happy. Should always have been after 9am to stop it being used by commuters. Why should over 60s , not demand the same perks as the u16s. Whats fair for one is fair for the other. Blatant age discrimination, which is illegal. But on your basis where does it stop? Someone in their 20's could then say they are being discriminated also. Or how about a 10 year old saying they are being discriminated by not being allowed to by alcohol, or go into a night club...

My Corolla self identifies as a bus and should be entitled to use the bus lanes You can't appease every group, I do understand help for Pensioners and schoolkids getting reduced or free travel, but TfL's reckless spending such as leaving City Hall for new digs in E16, the Mayor's police detail and armoured cars, failure to keep an eye on Councils keeping main roads in good condition and free flowing (anyone living in Haringey will see how the area has ground to a halt since more LTNs brought in, plus unknown holes left in roads and a proliferation of temporary lights) as buses are getting slower and slower. I don't know if their talking shop did anything today that was held at Kamal Chunchie Way, I would have gone but got caught in traffic

Push it to after 2024, so no difficult decisions have to be made. Next mayor inherits a great steaming bowl of ... that is TfL. You would not want to be the next mayor, London will have been bled dry. Think Sadiq and Truss went to the same economics school.

I did say that fare rises would be more like 4% despite inflation at 10% which atleast wouldn't be too bad.
