The Mayor took such a tone-deaf approach to the concerns of surrounding counties about the effect on them of ULEZ that it has probably finally killed off any residual chance of suburban NR services coming under TfL's wing. Which is a shame but my guess would be its been found to a difficult to separate what services and stations could be LO and what would have to remain Southern/Southeastern services.

In some cases I'd imagine so but take the all stops Victoria to Orpington via Herne Hill service, only Brixton, West Dulwich, Sydenham Hill, Penge East & Kent House would really need to change management and the service pattern doesn't change so there are services that should be far easier to change over

Peak restrictions will be removed for 60+ on Fridays as part of the trial. Railcards too to benefit:
We also have a cost estimate: Seems like part of the money is going to go to the TOCs to convince them (and compensate them for lost revenue):

My God more money found. I can't begin to imagine the future problems tfl will face. Not to mention the money that will be lost by people simply swapping fridays for other days off. People who work part time will probably aim to work Friday to use a freedom pass or will try and do hospital appointments then etc.

Fridays in offices are traditionally very quiet and often people run out of work by early afternoon. I just don’t see workers begging to go in on Fridays to save 90p when they’d just leave during the off-peak hours anyway. I certainly wouldn’t work on my office in a Friday and I don’t know anybody who does anymore. Even bankers have given up Fridays in the office. This may benefit a small number but on the whole it won’t change a thing.

Khan isn't a threat to Starmer and Westminster Labour, contrary to Burnham up north (though things have apparently settled down between them?).

Hopefully Khan, like EN13 will be withdrawn this year I think Sir Keir has seen what a divisive character he is, but is fortunate that the Tories have no credible alternative. I wondered if any of Southeastern would come under TfL's wing, but since it was nationalised (and soon to be absorbed back into British Rail), aside from reducing some strike action from drivers, it may not accomplish much. Also, how much of the network would they take? Between London and Dartford or as far as Ebbsfleet? How far South West would they go? To Esher or beyond? I think the cupboard being bare will prevent anything as audacious happening again as when TfL took the Greater Anglia Inners (though TfL did well to make a purse out of a sow's ear with the aging Class 315's and 317's)

I am not sure, people are likely to opt for Friday as an office day now as opposed to a Work from home day as commuting will be cheaper, and as a result may hang about in Central London afterwards too. I can see this being a huge boost to leisure in the area for certain. While the mayor has responsibilities for TfL, he also needs to look out for the London economy as a whole and this will no doubt give it a boost.

Most people in my establishment still do and take Mondays at home instead, and it's the same at many other companies too.

No one I know does Fridays in the office, most people I know do Monday-Wednesday with the occasional Thursday. But never Fridays, they are too slow and honestly a much better way to start the weekend a day early.
