405,464,465 all reach the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Edit..it’s hard to distinguish from maps, but possibly also the 403 and 407 ?? I don't think the 403 actually reaches it, but it does get rather close to it. The 407 does seem to get to the hills. Doesn't the 246 also go through the Surrey Hills too? The 407 does not go through the Surrey Hills at all

The 407 does not go through the Surrey Hills at all Oops, I didn't mean through, I meant near. Then again, I might be wrong because I might have mistaken that bit of greenery on Google Maps as the Surrey Hills.

The 407 does not go through the Surrey Hills at all Oops, I didn't mean through, I meant near. Then again, I might be wrong because I might have mistaken that bit of greenery on Google Maps as the Surrey Hills. The Surrey Hills is just the section of the North Downs which passes through Surrey. The only two TFL routes which pass through are the 405 on the A23 east of Reigate Hill and the 465 on the A24 west of Box Hill. The 464 reaches it at Tatsfield.

The proposed extension to the 325 to Royal Albert Dock makes it even more of a completed circle. Very true! might as well extend to Beckton Sainsbury and create a full circle I wonder if it'll be the only route in London following its extension to terminate in the same town as it started. It'll be a Beckton to Beckton route. I feel sorry for the poor unsuspecting person who board's it at Sainsburys thinking it would use a similar route to the 366 into the area.

Even still it doesn’t go near them, think you may have been confused with Riddlesdown and Kenley Common which the 407 does pass

Not only that, but the 331 is probably one of the most indirect routes, alongside the 455 and 386. To beat the: 331 - you could take the U1 and beat it. 386 - you could beat it by taking the 54. 455 - excluding the section in Old Lodge Lane, you could take the 127 to Wallington Station and beat it. The most indirect route in London has to be the N253. Very true, the N205 will get you from Euston to Aldgate much quicker.

Indeed the 331 has a number of unique distinctions: - Only TfL route to operate in three different counties - Greater London, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire - Crosses the Greater London boundary four times, more than any other route - the nearest rival is the 166 which crosses three times. - Only TfL bus route to operate in Buckinghamshire. There's quite a lot of routes which can be "beaten" too. Some further examples include 104: 25/86/425 from Stratford to Manor Park 325: 366 to Beckton and then a 300 to Prince Regent 376: 101/474 from Newham Town Hall to Beckton Station - or you could even walk that one on a nice day 474: 115/5 to East Ham and then a 101/104/474 to Manor Park 241: Walk to Stratford main and then get a 69 or 276 The list is endless. But I think working out the truly most indirect one will be hard because there's many potential ways you could work it out. You could obviously do it by distance from termini, however sometimes the route might not be that long overall so despite being indirect on a map it's still not long.

107 , only TfL route to have a middle section in “country zone” 81, only TfL route to run into Berkshire. The 81 also crosses two motorways. The 405 might do too, depending on where the M23 slip road ceases to be classified as a motorway.

The 383 is currently the only Uno route in London. The 692/699 join soon and will be the only Uno school routes and also the first electric school route (bar the 616 rare workings)
The 631 is the only school route to run with 7.8m one door buses.

Indeed, there are many routes that are indirect. I was just measuring how far each destination was from each other and comparing it to the route that it takes.

Am I right in saying that the 166 is the only TFL route to pass through two non-London boroughs, those being Reigate and Banstead followed by Epsom and Ewell?

On a good day, you can walk from Ponders End Station to Brimsdown Station, faster than the 191. I have done it, so it must have been a good day.

South to North by RATP and Arriva. Only by these two operators can you do one side of a non London borough to opposite side of London in a non London Borough ..two examples .. Start Caterham on the Hill 466 to Croydon 468 to Elephant 133 to London Bridge 149 to Lower Edmonton 279 to Waltham Cross Start Dorking 465 to Hook K2 to Tolworth 265 to Putney 220 to Harlesden 18 to Wembley 79 to Edgware 142 to Watford. You could technically really bend it and include Stagecoach too with the 677 going from Debden to Westerham. 677 to Ilford 25 to Bishopsgate 47 to Lewisham 261 to Bromley North 246 to Westerham
