I imagine everyone is seeing the mess unfold over the pond today. Shocking. What this is is Trump’s words and dangerous cations catching up with him. To be honest, I think he has been lucky to make it this far without any real escalations, but alternatively what we have seen is one truly massive escalation at a time of boiling point. Truly unbelievable that the one time fellow Republicans choose to ignore Senate Majority (or I guess Minority now post Georgia runoff election results) leader Mitch McConnell is the time that he actually gets it right. The Republicans still firmly remaining to block the democratic process are those obstinately trying to win over the MAGA crowd for a 2024 Presidential bid. This is the exact problem of a high turnout - large number of opposing voters still remains; the problem being these ones not being he smartest. I alternatively believe this is the breaking point the Republicans need to break away from this dangerous populist agenda in a similar fashion to how it broke away from its compassionate conservatism stance post HW Bush’s 1992 loss. Heck, Bush 41’s stance on problems is exactly what we need to bring peace and tranquility to global politics right now. Centre ground, moderate policies, working across the aisle, pragmatism, pro-environment.... etc. Things we could only dream of right now! I think that Trump inside knows he has lost all power, yet is trying at all costs to remain in the White House as a metaphorical shield for the barrage of legal issues which will pin him down the second he gets out.

I think that Trump inside knows he has lost all power, yet is trying at all costs to remain in the White House as a metaphorical shield for the barrage of legal issues which will pin him down the second he gets out. I think the revolt against Trump from Republicans such as McConnell and even Pence to a degree is due to the 2024 election, many news Outlets were reporting that not only could this be the end of Trumpism (which hopefully it is) but also the start of a very deep drop for the Republican Party. Both McConell and Pence know this but someone hasn't got around to telling this to Trump. I think it's generally accepted Biden is a one term president, even looking at odds Kamala Harris is the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination next time around as opposed to Biden himself. The Republicans know this too and chances of a party change are far higher when the incumbent president is not going for re-election. If they drown themselves in the river this time around they will just give the 2024 election to Democrats on a red carpet, and chances are Harris or whoever does end up running will indeed run for a second term afterwards, putting the Republicans out of White House Control for a long time. Not to mention the revolt of Georgia for the Senate could very well be repeated in other states such as Arizona which would do nothing but give the Democrats increased power in the Senate, and not to mention this means Pelosi and the rest of the other Dems will probably keep control of the House of Representatives for a long time to come. By this point the Republicans just need to make sure they don't cause long lasting damage, and just accept the damage that's already been done.

But of course trump will come out and say this is all "fake news". The guy is scared of the fact that people are waiting for him on the outside once his term is up.

In all honestly, why is this dangerous, abuse spreading man still in office?
"Law & Order" "remain peaceful" "no violence", Trump says after purposely inciting an extremist mob outside the Capitol Building in an attempted fascist coup. He needs to be charged and locked up immediately.

Wait, there is rational Trump supporters? I would like to believe (the optimist I am) that out of the millions who did vote for him some would normally use their brains! Jokes apart it seemed like scenes from a tinpot democracy rather than the US. I saw somewhere that the Venezuelan government (of all things ...) condemned the incident. What a bizarre beginning to what has been probably the most bizarre few months of my lifetime!

This should’ve been done years ago if you ask me. I’m a bit shocked Twitter hasn’t taken the same action as that’s Trump’s usual channel of spewing out his crap. At least we won’t have another 4 years of Trump’s Twitter rants from the Oval Office!
