But not unique.
Amersham, Chesham, Chalfont & Latimer, Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, Moor Park, Croxley and Theydon Bois have a tube station but no TfL bus service.

Hacton (between Rainham and Upminster) doesn't have any bus route Large swathes of southeastern havering does not have many bus routes, Wennington only has the 372, Corbetts Tay only has the 370 But where do you drawn the line? How far out can TfL realistically provide bus services? There are places that have tube stations but no TfL buses like Epping. I think you have chosen a fairly extreme example as I had to Google Hacton!
----
Hacton is a small dispersed settlement in Greater London, England, located within the London Borough of Havering and in East London, and beyond London urban sprawl. Surrounded by the Metropolitan Green Belt, located in the countryside between two London suburban towns (Upminster and Rainham).

Not everywhere in London really needs a bus route, the areas I mean are ones where there is very little or no housing like in Hacton where it wouldn't be beneficial to provide a bus route. New Years Green (near Harefield) is lucky to have the U9 (hail and ride only) even though there's nothing there

I've lived in Havering for nearly 5 years, and in East London for all my life and I didn't know where Hacton was until I Googled it As you have said, I think we need to look at things in proportion- does Wennington really need more than the 372 running every trundling through every 20 minutes? Probably not. I'd suggest that somewhere like Goresbrook Village in Dagenham would be more suitable for a bus route than Hacton. Most of Hacton is a relatively short walk from the 370, which provides the links into Upminster for trains into London and Romford, Hornchurch and Lakeside for shops. Think we also need to look at where people want to go- for example, people in Wennington would most likely want to travel to Rainham to catch a train or to go to Tesco, Hornchurch for a night out and Lakeside for the shops there. I don't feel Wennington even needs a link to Romford, with the Hopper fare its just as easy to change at Elm Park for the faster link into Romford on the 252. There are other areas that survive with just one bus route, many areas of Becontree have just the one bus route, areas in the eastern end of Dagenham survive with just one bus route without issue.

The 193 doesn't serve the village, though with TfL's 400m radius rule of being within a bus stop, I think at least part of the village edges into the zone of acceptable bus coverage.

Hacton (between Rainham and Upminster) doesn't have any bus route Large swathes of southeastern havering does not have many bus routes, Wennington only has the 372, Corbetts Tay only has the 370 Hacton was served for some years by the curious "Tunnel Express", a midibus service which ran between Romford and Sevenoaks via the Dartford Tunnel from August 1967. The route was designed to avoid duplicating London Transport routes as far as possible. It was run by the enterprising (and eccentric) Dr Herbert Nesbitt Heffernan, a consultant at one of the large psychiatric hospitals that existed in the Dartford area at the time. He named his company "Thames Weald" which is an entirely fictional name, there is no such place in reality. The Romford service fizzled out in the 1980s but Tunnel Express continued, latterly as a Dartford-Southend service, until Dr Heffernan was refused a further PSV licence on health grounds in 1998 (he was in his 80s by then). I wrote a short piece about the Tunnel Express to accompany a photo of one of the bus stops along Hacton Lane, which was still in situ in 2013 but has since been removed - click on the photo below. Hacton (between Rainham and Upminster) doesn't have any bus route Large swathes of southeastern havering does not have many bus routes, Wennington only has the 372, Corbetts Tay only has the 370 Maybe you could justify a direct route between Rainham and Upminster through Hacton? The problem here is that a lot of it is wilderness and sparsely populated. You could route it through Corbets Tey, I guess. And you could let it go down to Ferry Lane, though it seems like that TfL thinks it would be unprofitable. I guess if a route had to exist, it would probably go: Upminster - Corbets Tey - Hacton - Upminster Rd N - Rainham - Ferry Lane Ind. Area I don’t see this route being super frequent, maybe a bit more than the 347.

Hacton is a small dispersed settlement in Greater London, England, located within the London Borough of Havering and in East London, and beyond London urban sprawl. Surrounded by the Metropolitan Green Belt, located in the countryside between two London suburban towns (Upminster and Rainham).
I've lived in Havering for nearly 5 years, and in East London for all my life and I didn't know where Hacton was until I Googled it As you have said, I think we need to look at things in proportion- does Wennington really need more than the 372 running every trundling through every 20 minutes? I think comparing these two areas is interesting, considering their close, yet removed distance from existing routes. For Hacton, a lot of the nearby area is wilderness, part of the Green Belt. The area is close to existing buses and stations at Upminster and Upminster Bridge. However, the natural area makes it difficult for buses to reasonably serve what would likely be a direct bus between Upminster and Rainham. The proximity to the 370 gives it a decent link to Romford and Hornchurch. For an area like Goresbrook, it has the difference of being a larger urban area, with housing, and is also close to existing buses and stations at Becontree. Here though, buses can be hard (or rather, more tedious) to access. You have the 62 and 145 at Becontree, good, to serve Dagenham, Barking, Chadwell Heath, and Ilford. A 20 minute walk down Gale Street gets you to the A13, with the 173 and 287, serving Beckton and Rainham, but also Barking and Dagenham again. Another 20 minute walk west gets you to Lodge Avenue with the 368 serving Barking and Chadwell Heath, again. Or go east for a 25 minute walk to get the 174/175 to Romford. Ideally, you’d have a route that serves a new link, to areas that this area struggles with. However, barriers, both literally and figuratively, make it harder. Many people would definitely appreciate a better link to Romford, or a proper night service to Barking.
