I have just had my council tax increase notification, and the leader of the council uses very diplomatic language in describing his views on the acting Mayor of London’s 9.5% increase on his portion. Yes, 9.5%!
I would not vote for Khan and his self-agrandisment if he were the last candidate in the world!

Here in Lambeth, we saw a big increase in council tax so if it’s any consolation, your not the only one.

www.standard.co.uk/news/mayor/boris-johnson-tory-london-mayor-elections-shaun-bailey-b925970.htmlThis was the funniest article I read, I think someone really needs to tape Bailey's mouth shut unless he has a paper of what to read in front of him. He's literally gone and said Boris is happy to help rescue his campaign. I've not heard a politician before claim that their own campaign is going down in flames in recent history. He's basically admitted that his campaign is a failure now. The blame seems to be generally against the media giving him negative press, but surely it doesn't take up much to work out why. The Daily Mail and Evening Standard are notable Tory supporting papers and even if they don't seem to be supporting Bailey then who actually will? I was toying with giving Bailey my second preference vote, but the past few days alone has shown exactly why he doesn't deserve it. Just need to decide whether to go with Farah or the LibDems or Greens. The guy’s a walking disaster. Maybe the only reason he is the candidate as no one wanted to ruin their political career by standing against sadiq Khan - biding their time till the labour candidate is weaker

He is in power by default, with no valid electoral mandate, ergo acting.

His term was actually extended by one year, it wasn't terminated and then a caretaker mayor put in place. He is still very much the mayor. Quite a childish Trump supporter like view to say "He is not my mayor" Chances are he's going to have a new term in 5 weeks anyway

The problem is I live a building conversion, so the listing is based on the original build date of like 1992/3 even though it was a change of usage in 2015. Tried to get the grading changed as it was an office building back then but they wouldn’t accept it. But still it’s a rather large flat, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms.

As previously explained many time, you get nothing for free in this world, someone ends up paying.

Was he reelected in 2020? No, so he has no valid mandate. We do not yet live under a Stalin regime, so he is acting as mayor without a popular mandate.

Was he reelected in 2020? No, so he has no valid mandate. We do not yet live under a Stalin regime, so he is acting as mayor without a popular mandate. He wasn't re-elected in 2020 because the elections were postponed due to extra-ordinary circumstances. If you still want to refer to the Mayor as "acting" and regard his mandate as invalid as a result, that's purely your preference. It won't change the situation.
