I can think of a few funky line names Highbury Islington - west Croydon / Crystal Palace / new cross: the underground overground Stratford - Richmond / Clapham junction: FordHam line Gospel oak - barking: GobLin (what else) Euston - Watford: the aboveground below underground overground Romford - Upminster: Shuttle McShuttleface Liverpool Street - Chingford: the Liver-Ford line Liverpool Street - Enfield / cheshunt: the Hunt-liver-field line No offence, but they all sound stupid. If anything revert back to the British Rail line names i.e North London line etc. You missed the sarcasm in the post

Goblin was used by commuters in the early 90's IIRC, this was down to the extemely terrible service the line had in late 80's and early 90's with those horrible 2 carriage diesel trains. They then set up a successful presure group and called it Goblin due to the terrible service iirc. Wasn’t there a similar story with the Watford DC line being called the Harlequin line (and its negative connotations?) I've herd that being said before as well not sure what that is/was ment. I think that was in silverlink days?

I think the main shopping centre in Watford was called The Harlequin Shopping Centre, not sure if that's still the case but I guess the name probably came from that.

Think that’s the case, there’s also a theory that the names Harlesden and Queen’s Park were concatenated together (much like the Bakerloo back in the day).

Got no issue with this "pledge" so far from him tbh, it does make total sense. It's funny as we've been complaining about how the Overground in this forum should be split into different lines in different forms and how there's been little transport pledges from mayor elects, so the moment when a mayoral candidate does it now people complain. Yes there are more important issues at state here 100% not denying it. It maybe 10 or so years late as it does seem like casual passengers have moved on and gotten used with the term just "Overground". But it does make sense to split the Overground up especially with Rail franchising stopping and possible chances to expand to the Overground. Doesn't help how big the Overground and how confusing it can be for new users or those not familiar with the tube map especially when you got one train going to West Croydon and another to Barking all under the same line but these two trains go no where near each other doesn't make sense. Should of been done years ago really.

I mean no one is asking them to do orienteering and read ordnance survey maps. This sort of thing can be done when the coffers aren’t bare - right now isn’t the time. The other thing we need to remember is TfL & maps before showed national rail lines all as a white line

My metro map has all Overground lines in different colours. If TfL wants to give the lines different colours then it would be best to give the DLR, Crossrail, Thameslink and trams a different line style. This should of been done when they took over there services from London Liverpool Street, this could help them prepare for there ambition of taking over more metro routes

I know Goblin seems the obvious choice for the Gospel Oak to Barking line, but I'm not sure how well it would go down in widespread use. Goblins being mythical creatures as symbols of evil might not go down too well in some communities so it might be a good idea to dodge that bullet before it gets fired. Goblin was used by commuters in the early 90's IIRC, this was down to the extemely terrible service the line had in late 80's and early 90's with those horrible 2 carriage diesel trains. Especially the stretch from Stratford to North Woolwich.

London Elections 2021: Green Party announce 'zero murders in London' planThe Green Party candidate for mayor of London has set a target of zero murders in London within 10 years if she were to be elected.www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-56652222After this target zero type nonsense, I have lost complete faith in her. I dont know why this snowflake nonsense of using zero as a benchmark etc. IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN! Unless you handcuff everyone and put everyone in London into solitary confinement you would NEVER stop zero murders. It is something that has been happening for centuries.[
And they wonder why Labour and Tories are so far away from them.

They clearly do have a groundswell of support, enough to gain them seats on the London Assembly under Proportional Representation, and their presence has been beneficial.
TBF, this isn’t the first time she or other prominent Green Party members have come out with nonsense on a similar level. They simply make it easier for me not to bother with them
