Surprise, surprise, Fernandez red card overturned. Clearly, the reviews panel must have a lower bar than VAR. It was a nonsense decision.
Talking of bus analogies, at what point do people realise that Man Utd is no longer a big club. What is the route equivalent, which was once a big route but now a shadow of itself. The 25?

Probably more so the 12, the 25 still knocks about in the top most used routes.

I think it's ridiculous that they were allowed to appeal, I think VAR should have advised referee Chris Kavanagh to look at it again on the monitor and if he still deemed it to be worthy of a red card that should be it. I think ETH is on borrowed time, who next?

I'd say the 15. That's a real shadow of its former self.

In that instance, I don’t blame the referee so much because his angle to see the incident wasn’t great but the person operating VAR essentially threw him under by not suggesting to him that he might need to see it on the screen. Whilst no means a Utd or Fernandes fan, glad the review panel came to the correct decision to overturn his red card and subsequent ban. Man Utd doesn’t stop being a big club just because they aren’t competing currently IMO - they are still the biggest club in this country followed by Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea. That’s evident in how much traction they are getting in the media the minute something happens

In real time it didn’t look like a red, but now referees have the advantage of video replays. The referee should be allowed to request a video replay to check if a foul was committed and then decide if it’s a yellow or red card. Either that or just bin VAR altogether. At the moment the standard of refereeing in the PL seems diabolical compared to other countries. VAR has done nothing to enhance the PL imho. Even in Euros and World Cups you can see the difference in the quality of referees and how VAR is used. You just know when a PL ref takes charge of a high profile game there will be big mistakes made. Anyway rant over. Man Utd are the biggest team, followed by Liverpool and Arsenal. Who comes 4th is debatable 😁

2 March 2025. Contract retained by Erik Ten Hag from Old Trafford garage with 11 existing defence tactics (300924) April 2025 New Relegation Battles introduced. (011024) Despite poor quality performance on the route, it was retained by the sole bidder ETH. Other operators did not bid due to current lack of capacity. The award is short term, with the operator put on notice that if performance does not improve this month, payments will be withheld and a temporary operator will be appointed until June 2025. ETH buses are said to be outraged by the lack of flexibility afforded to smaller operators and are looking at the small print of the contract. ETH issued a statement saying that they will “stick to the plan” that has seen them pick up 2 industry awards in 2 years. When we asked ETH to define what the plan is, no further comment was received to our enquiry.

The technology has proven to work very well especially when it's combined with humans are aren't incompetent and/or corrupt such as ones in the major international tournaments and in competitions abroad. The ones in this country are all terrible and I lost faith in them many years ago, especially when my club has been on the receiving end of many idiotic decisions against us though we aren't the only ones to suffer either. I think Chelsea are easily the 4th biggest team - even during their fallow years, they had a massive support and there were always Chelsea fans anywhere I went, even when I was growing up in the early 90's - they've only grown during the Ambrovich era. After them, it becomes harder to say whose the next biggest IMO - Man City are a small club so maybe the likes of Spurs, Leeds, Everton, West Ham, Villa or Newcastle go next?

You're right that Man Utd are a big club, the biggest club, but in terms of current football play for the last few years they are not. Neville/Keane go off when Man Utd lose but this is their standard at the moment. In terms of biggest 'club', agree Man Utd and Liverpool. Arsenal at 3? Is that a world wide thing? I think Chelsea may be at 3 world wide. Chelsea would be ahead of Arsenal in many metrics that would be used to measure biggest club.

Fernandes with another red card you couldn't make this up looool Fernandes was quickly out of control like DW225, and is now off the road so they had to put Maguire out on the 217. Like T122, he is showing his age and doesn't move as quick but was enough to get them out of jail for the day. Now with a star performer gone, we'll see how Ten Hag fares with the route in the coming days. No new transfers on the horizon either

I might be in the minority but I think his actions are aligned with someone trying hard in very frustrating circumstances. The red against Spurs was rightly overturned, but I think the two yellows for two high foot challenges were deserved tonight. More scandalous was ETH subbing Rashford at half time. We wait all season for Rashford to start playing like Rashford…one goal, one assist and roasting Porto down the left…and ETH subs him at half time. It’s like he’s trying to get sacked. Seriously just get him out and bring in promote Kieron McKenna to manager until the end of the season whilst we scout for a new manager. Whatever ETH has been coaching his players to do, it’s not getting through to them. This is his third season!

The only thing Chelsea have over us is European trophies - everything else is weighted in Arsenal's favour such as worldwide fanbase, overall history, total amount of trophies - even the stadium is bigger.
