No, I wouldn’t class it as a failure - disappointment yes but failure seems very strong. We are currently overachieving as the target has always been this season to finish in the top four - we can still drop out of that. All I expect from the team is to carry on playing how they are and see where we end up Mikel has to keep a lid on his emotions on the touchline and not kick off at fourth officials as he did in the last match which could adversely affect things further down the line. They are doing well but I see Man City is in their rear view mirror and approaching fast as the regular Top Four find their feet after a busy season before the World Cup... Newcastle look like ones to watch out for as well this season . Still the 259 Derby is around the corner if Spurs don't lose momentum like a 144 bus on Muswell Hill Arsenal fans are very much experiencing what us liverpool fans went through for years... every point dropped feels like a loss with a team like City on the chase.

I have to ask. What happened against Brentford on Monday. That was a shocking performance from you folks. Nunez has pace but I'm hoping he's not a bust.

What happened against Brentford on Monday. That was a shocking performance from you folks. Nunez has pace but I'm hoping he's not a bust. It's a real combination of factors to explain whats been going on this season, all a combination of exhaustion, natural decline, not taking Brentford seriously (really lazy defending), and tactics seem to have been shifted. Our assistant manager has been given the green light to experiment and some of his ideas, like playing Salah far out wide, are just not working. Brentford totally deserved to win and that was one of the worst performances of the Klopp era. Lots of work to do. It's not easy to pinpoint exactly what's going wrong, but it is depressing. I don't have faith in the owners to invest and replenish the stretched squad, especially now they've said they want to sell. I'm not blaming Lijnders for everything but how many assistant managers could you name in the PL? It's clear his influence has increased massively and we are just connecting the dots with what we see on the pitch

Last season when we lost to them on the first game of the season people laughed and questioned why a team like Brentford would beat us and I told people that they shouldn't underestimate this team as they've been good for a few years in the championship and now the results are speaking for themselves.

Precisely the questions we are asking. I heard Carragher say the other night our midfield has had one first team signing (Thiago) in 4 and a half years? Terrible. I’ll obviously take Gakpo but if that takes up the small amount of resources the owners want to put towards transfers then it’s rather frustrating. I presume Klopp wants an attacking player to bring a spark like Diaz did last year to get us out of this slump. Going into the summer the worry is Bellingham, a player we have chased for years, will walk to Real Madrid because they’re simply willing to pay more.

What an upset by Sheffield Wednesday against Newcastle. I thought the stoppage time was 6 minutes... why was the match still playing around 97 minutes??

What an upset by Sheffield Wednesday against Newcastle. I thought the stoppage time was 6 minutes... why was the match still playing around 97 minutes?? Isn’t the stoppage time based on the 45 minutes of the half, if there are more stoppages during extra time then got to add some on for that too. Although ref would do that without a 4th official waving a timing board.

Has to be the upset of the day, awful miss by Chris Wood though. I don't think Burnley beating Bournemouth was much of a surprise, two clubs who could well be swapping leagues at the end of the season. Although the FA Cup has lost some of its aura there were some good games today and a few goalkeeping howlers including De Gea last night.

I don't know how I feel about the 4th round draw. This will all depend on tomorrow night.
