I'm still laughing at the fact that Jota hasn't scored a league goal in a YEAR!! Has been injured for most of it but that's a crazy stat

this game could cost Arsenal the title, especially if they lose to City. City is a must win game for them After watching the match. I don't know how I feel. I fear this draw may cost us at the end of the season but my goodness what a save Ramsdale did towards the end of the game. As soon as Firmino came on I knew he would get his usual goal against Arsenal I feel it's done and have never been convinced we'd win the title anyway (hopefully I'm still proved wrong) but TBH, I expected to lose this match but still annoying to drop 2 points from a 2-0 position.

Had that Xhaka incident not occurred then I think we would have definitely won and that Martinelli pass at the end that frustrated me.

Now I'm dreading the Brighton fixture at the Emirates as they have had history over the years disrupting our plans on finishing in a good position. Realistically now from this point we HAVE to win ALL our matches and just hope and pray City slip up. YX10FFN I'm beginning to understand how you folks felt where any draw you got around this point of the season would feel like a loss especially when you're up against City challenging for the title.

Indeed, as you’re well aware Man City can be very unforgiving, although I have more faith in them dropping silly points now than I did in 18/19. In principle I’d much rather you lot win the league than City to a threepeat so I do apologise if we end up scuppering that 🤣. Arsenal’s tributes to Hillsborough were class and much appreciated.

Realistically now we have to win every match from this point onwards and hope City drop points as they're in the champions league and fa cup. If they get eliminated from either competition and we don't capitalise on this then it's a wrap for us and the title challenge.

And to carry on this love in, hope that linesman gets a long ban - can't believe people are actually defending his actions and comparing it to Mitrovic. Elbowing is always worse in my book

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65235729Leicester City appoint Dean Smith until the end of the season Not a great appointment but Leicester look like they're heading for the Championship anyway. Even if they don't get relegated this season they'll be struggling next season with Dean. Leicester have deteriorated but they won't be CL contenders anytime soon Having said that teams like West Ham and Leicester pushing for a European place often end up near the relegation zone the next season as they struggle to cope with more matches. Even Leicester didn't have European football this season but I fear that they'll either go down this season or if they don't they'll be a relegation threatened team next season. There's unfortunately too many mediocre managers like Allardyce, Pardew, Moyes, Hodgson, Bruce, Hughes etc who get jobs floating around the bottom half of the PL table whilst what they need are younger managers.

Elbowing is always worse in my book By definition it was an 'elbow' looks like the elbow made contact but it was more fending off ("get off me") rather than the elbows that are intentional and get red cards. This have been blown out of proportion. The Mitrovic is much more aggressive and not comparable (but not in the way you suggest). This was more like Fernandez situation and I have not heard that comparison and the Fernandez was more aggressive than what the referee did. There are some referees that are happy with what happened. This will overshadow the horrific refereeing at Spurs and Brighton. De Zerbi might as well get a recurring meeting invite in the diary with Webb. Inexcusable errors. People will blame VAR but quite simply it is the AR part. How does a referee watch that video clip and conclude Mitoma was not a clear error. I could write a book about the whole game but leave it there. Mitoma by the way... Two great games I watched. Anfield was great. Arsenal need some luck as Man City look like they are in gear. Liverpool only won the title when they finally beat City and Arsenal may just have to beat City. Unfortunately for Arsenal the two tough away games are latish kick offs which adds to the home atmosphere (8pm at City, 4:30 at Newcastle). They did not turn up at Newcastle when they needed it last year and Newcastle had nothing to play for. The other game was the madness of two 100 point teams in Wrexham - Notts. That is just bonkers and the game was too.

I agree about the refereeing in the Tottenham v Brighton game, whilst the on field referee may miss things there is no excuse for the VAR official. In other news Reading have sacked Paul Ince...... www.bbc.com/sport/football/65239073

They did not turn up at Newcastle when they needed it last year and Newcastle had nothing to play for. The other game was the madness of two 100 point teams in Wrexham - Notts. That is just bonkers and the game was too. I watched several replays and looks very intentional to me, we all know if a player did that, he'd be banned but it looks like officials have their own rule book now especially as said assistant has seen no further punishment. So I now have to deduce that: Refs can put their hands or elbows on players intentionally or not without repercussion Pushing a ref is a 8 match ban if your not a Manchester United player where you get off scott free (I stand by that both should of received something along the lines of 3 game bans and no more) Horror challenges that can result in serious injury, sometimes career ending, gets you three match ban or none if your Harry Kane. So breaking legs is less serious than pushing a ref This on top of the fact, referees aren't held to account when mistakes are made either by VAR assistants (VAR technology is excellent, the humans are the issue as you say) or on pitch officials. People wonder why referees are vilified - no sanctioning of the assistant and playing by different rules isn't going to solve that problem
