The Northern line was really bad between Kentish Town and Camden Town also Camden to Euston via the City branch but has gotten better in recent months. Also on the Kennington Loop section of the Battersea branch (both directions). There are so many stretches on the Morden to Kennington line where I honestly think I might bust an ear drum one day with the amount of screeching. I’m so glad I don’t have to use the tube, I just couldn’t take it. It’s only gonna get worse with TfL budget cuts.

From my experience worst one by far is Central Line Liverpool Street-Bethnal Green. Should come with a health warning

From my experience worst one by far is Central Line Liverpool Street-Bethnal Green. Should come with a health warning Literally the OG deafener - just before the crossover on the eastbound road. Has been like that for years. Can vouch for the northbound road between Clapham North and Stockwell, northbound road between Oxford Circus and Warren Street and the westbound road between Canary Wharf and Canada Water.

One of my favorite childhood (and well into adulthood) moments on the London underground, equally so with the Piccadilly and District Lines between Hammersmith and Acton Town. m.youtube.com/watch?v=9oVni5LUc6k&feature=youtu.beI also love it when trains pullaway at the same times at adjoining platforms such as Earls Court, Finchley Road, Mile End and Hammersmith... to name a few.

Is it worth it to change from Jubilee to Metropolitan at Finchley Road and then back the other way at Wembley Park when heading towards Stanmore?

Is it worth it to change from Jubilee to Metropolitan at Finchley Road and then back the other way at Wembley Park when heading towards Stanmore? I think Finchley would be your best bet. You might even get the same train to Stanmore!

Is it worth it to change from Jubilee to Metropolitan at Finchley Road and then back the other way at Wembley Park when heading towards Stanmore? Maybe only if the jubilee train you are on terminates short and doesn’t reach Stanmore and you maybe able to catch the jubilee train ahead by taking the met line. Otherwise you don’t save that much time.

Otherwise you don’t save that much time. A good question. Normally if the Met line is arriving within 3 mins it is worth it - at worst you land up on the same train, but often you will make an earlier train. Part of the issue here is that when travelling north, not all trains go to Stanmore, so while you may overtake some Jubilee line trains on the Met, there is no guarantee they will go all the way to Stanmore. Also remember in morning peaks not all trains on the Met stop at Wembley Park and sometimes the Met can go quite slowly between Finchley Road and Wembley Park. Then above is based on family experience as it is a journey done frequently.

Biased but I would stay on the Jub without a doubt as I much prefer the 1996 stock to S-stock (at least sound wise). The potential couple of minutes you save if everything works in your favour isn’t worth it. Especially if you have a seat. It’s 7 minutes on the Met vs ~12 minutes on the Jub off peak/weekends. Everything has to work out perfectly to get that extra ~5 minutes!

Due to train maintenance issues, LUL has withdrawn five weekday train diagrams from the timetable. This means that there will be 52 trains a day in service instead of 57. This is said to be a temporary measure although it is not yet known for how long.
Rather than recast the Working timetable, the journeys operated by the withdrawn diagrams are simply cancelled, leading to some gaps in the service. A few journeys have been retimed slightly to mitigate the worst effects.
The train diagrams withdrawn are:
Train 140 - operates 06.26 to 11.24 Train 336 - operates 05.16 to 19.20 Train 350 - operates 06.11 to 23.56 Train 351 - operates 06.16 to 00.01 Train 362 - operates 16.11 to 00.56

This is now my most hated line. 0640 this morning at Waterloo , 17 min wait for a train towards Stratford. TfL had a “good service” marked up.
Got a bus instead.
