All I can say to that is a lot of uber drivers are serial offenders for this. Whenever I've driven on some motorways I've had to flash people to move out of the third lane as that lane is for overtaking purposes ONLY!!!!! How some people don't know this astonishes me. Pretty much all of the PHV drivers out there haven't got a clue on how to drive properly on the roads or where they are acutally going and its not just the Uber drivers as well, I have seen that from other minicab firms especially Addison Lee drivers where they often changing lanes at the last second or doing dangerous u-turns etc...
That said Uber drivers are generally useless on the roads, often driving well below the speed limit (like doing 30mph on 50mph road for example), illegal parking on bus stops and the all other stuff they shouldn't really be doing. I've now got to the point where If I see a post 2009 Prius on the roads then its very likely that it would have a PHV sticker on the window and driving cluelessly by an Uber.

E-Scooters are to be banned from the 6 Royal Parks after they caused 6 deaths. Royal Parks have stated that the parks are mainly for the benefit of pedestrians

The less said about Uber drivers standard of driving the better. Some of the things I see them do, I honestly don't even know how people trust travelling with them. My trip to Arnos Grove just now reminded me of a few things I have forgotten When driving on a road that has parking bays on one side naturally you have to drive in the centre of the road if the parking bays are on your side. Even if the road is still wide enough for two large vehicles to pass eachother motorists will still drive by the white line instead of moving closer to the kerb to give you space even if you were already there! The same applies for when u have narrow roads and you are already coming through instead of giving you way they rather try to squeeze past the bus. Giving way at roundabouts is another, they always cut Infront of you. Speaking of cutting Infront of you, the idiots that cut Infront of you to then immediately turn right or even worse turn left or worse yet still pull up on the left. It's like so you really couldn't wait to pull up after 30 yards on the left? Honestly I just feel these days bus drivers are just targets for the worst form of driving and that is even from other bus drivers too funnily enough. I've never liked Uber, absolutely a last resort for me. Their prices randomly inflating really puts me off, to me if public transport isn't available it's either walking or a black cab if I don't have my car on me. Cycling is out of the question for me. In terms of drivers pulling out to the left randomly it's always in the worst possible places. I've been at Henlys before and just seen people last minute pull out to go to a different road and it absolutely infuriates me. To me I don't understand why some people can't turn around somewhere else or divert their route in order not to cause an accident. I agree, if I make a mistake or a wrong turn that's my problem I have to find a safe solution not suddenly stop or attempt a u turn or lane change etc.

Another reason why I dislike UBER is their reliance on a satnav. As has been mentioned here before due to the drivers' focus on the satnav they are much more likely to cause an accident and in lots of cases they don't know the area very well.

I find that even with passengers they still drive terribly alot. Even yesterday at the temporary lights in Edgware towards Edgware a black vauxhall zafira cut Infront of me into the bus lane, then tried to cut back Infront of the two cars Infront of him. I was thinking to myself what was the point of that, he risked colliding with my bus and didn't even end up getting Infront of the two cars anyway. Ontop of that receiving a bus lane fine.

In terms of driving to me I can understand why people want to rush around. For example, if the A24 in Tooting has been reduced down to one lane of course people are going to try and rush out of the area as quickly as possible. I understand some people do treat some roads as a racetrack but making driving a bit of an easier experience and most importantly an efficient experience we wouldn't be faced with such problems and things such as effiency is why people are now choosing to ratrun. I'd also connect this into the forum topic, being buses that certain routes I've noticed succeed because of how quickly and efficiently they get between A & B. The 210, 221, 251, 263 spring to mind, in East London the 66 springs to mind.
Okay that's fair enough you want to speak about people rushing due to road works, however not not everywhere has road works and people still drive like idiots. Sometimes I really wonder if they legit have a license. Alot of people tend to be on their phones whilst driving aswell. Another thing I forgot to mention is when people sit in the middle lane on the motorway doing 50-55. Or when two people hog both lanes on a dual carriageway doing about 40-50 when the limit is 70 and finally the amount of people who attempt to join a dual carriageway or motorway at 35-40mph when the traffic on the DC/M are doing 70+ I just don't understand how anyone thinks trying to join a high speed road at half or nearly half the speed is a wise idea but many people do it. Also I drive the 251and it's not always quick depends on Ibus and if certain drivers don't mess about. The 221 I did when I was at Arriva on a test day and that was quick but can't speak about it now. The 210 has always been slow for me really couldn't call that route quick at all and iirc there are now 20mph limits in place between Golfers Green and Highgate Village. Haven't been on the 66 for years but the last time the journey was pure 🔥. Finally the 263 again I don't really agree with this as I have been behind 263s numerous times both in my car between Highbury Corner and North Finchley (at different times and different sections) and also when I do the 326 between Whetstone and Great North Road and again between Barnet Cinema and Barnet Church and I have always thought for what is quite a long route these drivers really so crawl along. The 210 is quite slow I'd agree, same with the 263. I think they could easily deal with a drop in running time, some routes in London are unnecessarily overtimed.

Speaking of driving standards, sitting at the temporary lights at Edgware towards Arnos Grove a pappa John's rider came to the lights, stopped then proceeded through the junction just as a 32 was coming the other way narrowly avoiding a collision

Funny enough I still remembered when the A12 was being built in the 90s. That caused a lot of controversy especially with the people that lived around Cathall Road and Grove Green Road. I remember the area very well before it was built and the construction, shame it did not keep its planned Motorway status. One section I do miss is the Church Lane underpass bridge that went underneath the Central line at Leytonstone. Although I do not miss the loads of pigeons hanging around underneath it. After the construction Gainsborough Road was constructed differently and made larger. It used to have a small single track bridge with a traffic light on it. The kids of today will never know how that area looked like before the changes occurred. I still remembered on the news when they showed the protests in their outfits around Claremont Road. 😂😂😂. (How I still remember this is fascinating)

I see people do it ina. Fiat 500 and I'm like wow, you really can't keep that small narrow thing in one lane?

I totally agree with all of this! Today in my car I was doing 25mph and this woman just pulled out on me forcing me to slow down to then proceed at 10mph so I tooted her and overtook her then she tooted back.

Since Covid alot of people have really lost it become careless amongst other things the craziness on the roads is getting so much worse. I had 2 very close calls on the 326 today towards Brent Cross in 1 trip. One unwise woman decided to cut across me at the mini roundabout near the Sainsbury's (give way to the traffic approaching from the right means nothing!)
Then at Hendon Central on the dual carriageway an Old guy in a Lexus decided to cut across me from the middle lane to aprk up on the left, instead of waiting until I went past. The worst thing about this is when I pulled away from the Hendon Central bus stop he was already at the lights and the left lane was completely free, so he had the choice to be in the lane in the first place!!
