The impact on local bus services here in Kent seems to be increasing. Huge delays, and some routes on large diversions just to avoid petrol station queues. This is on top of the severe driver shortages. When I was on the 34 yesterday I saw the 125 getting diverted around the Oakleigh Park area.

The 318 has to pick its way past the garage on The Roundway, it was mayhem tonight as there were some pumps open. Everyone is still clamouring for fuel, it's like a scene out of Independence Day:Resurgence where panic has gripped them all

the days of me doing that are long gone. £10 I used to spend for a half tank in the late 90's. 79.9p a litre good old days, we can only dream 😂 , In around 2014-15 didn't petrol/diesel prices rise to around £1.50 a litre ? I,ve read somewhere prices are going to rise again and seen some local garages have bumped up there prices 1.47 at a Shell in Newham . Funny you mention 79.9p a litre as I will always remember that was what petrol cost when I passed my test in 2003!

Now that makes me think why the person before me bought £10 worth of petrol. I thought he was being a Good Samaritan but he must have had a full tank already (I on the other hand bought 47L of petrol costing a good £65 odd as I was low!) In normal times I used to be the person buying petrol in £10 units. Won't be doing that again after the last week I always do a full tank of diesel regardless. I used to have a petrol car and one day I let it go down to 40 miles remaining thinking to myself I was going to a certain petrol station to fill up. Unexpectedly I had to go somewhere after work so I had to go to the nearest petrol station which was Sainsbury's and I out in £20 as I don't really trust Sainsbury's fuel and I was right. It was as if I filled the car with water! Since then I always do a full tank and never let the car go below 100 miles. When this petrol station madness started I had 140 miles remaining and by the time I got some fuel I had 60 miles remaining after driving around various places to find fuel.

This nonsense needs to end, it is completely ruining our services. I spent 3 days trying to get diesel for my car. In the end has to get up at 5am to go get some sat in a queue for 37 minutes and whilst watching others I realised that people were moving on from the pumps rather quickly however none had Jerry cans. By the time I got to the pumps the person that was at that particular pump bwfor more topped up £6 of diesel!! So clearly already had nearly a full tank. Now the amount of diesel wasted travelling to the petrol station, queuing up then travelling back is probbaly £4 worth. Honestly some are so selfish. Know someone who works in a petrol station and said one person bought £1.60 worth of fuel! how? I thought minimum delivery was 5 litres?

That person that topped up £6 is typical of the ass holes that are still going almost every few days now to make sure they are full to the brim. Really boils my blood at the shear stupidity of some people. It would not surprise me that it would have been the same person to buy a diesel SUV to drive 2 miles every odd day, so would never see the benefit over a petrol engine. Or have their engine running at idle for minutes and see nothing wrong with it. I agree with all of this, all of it!!!

Know someone who works in a petrol station and said one person bought £1.60 worth of fuel! how? I thought minimum delivery was 5 litres? It says that, but the pumps do not force it through, be fire hazard if it spilt everywhere. Do you then try and charge for x litres of fuel, when they only have had £1.60. Experimented once, you can stop the flow for a few pence if you do a really quick squeeze.

The impact on local bus services here in Kent seems to be increasing. Huge delays, and some routes on large diversions just to avoid petrol station queues. This is on top of the severe driver shortages. No different over here, the last two days on the 326 have been crazy. Yesterday we had to divert away from Finchley lane (Hendon, Quadrant) towards Brent Cross to avoid the queues for the BP. This whole week basically have been diverted from East Barnet Road to avoid the Esso and shell stations. Texaco on whetstone high road caused a nightmare yesterday we were running 20-30 minutes late. Now today Esso at Hendon Central was open again meaning we couldn't serve the bus stop at Hendon Central. The 142s had to be diverted using Hay lane and Stag lane (same as 303 in both directions) at Colindale to avoid the queues for the asda and shell petrol stations towards Watford. Then dirverted again at Edgware via the 340 to/from Stanmore to avoid the Esso at Canons Corner. 79s diverted via burnt oak Broadway to avoid the Esso at Queensbury Circle, before they were missing out Queensbury station to avoid the Morrisons petrol station. I could go on about the huge and constant disruptions.

The one “benefit” if I can put it that way. Took me 15 min to get from Blackheath to Stratford at 6pm through the blackwall tunnel! No queues for the tunnel either whereas at 6pm it’s usually jam packed

Walking home with my takeaway from Hayes High Street the queues were lengthy to get into the Shell garage in both directions along Pickhurst Lane. Just between the High Street and Pickhurst Green I saw two 314's, two 138's, a 246 and a 'Not in Service' TB Enviro 400. Another 314 was trying to edge out from the Mounthurst Road / Pickhurst Green turning.
Earlier, in Croydon, 466's were regularly turning short at Old Coulsdon in one direction and Addiscombe Road in the other. 194's have been turning short at Shirley and Penge for a good few days as well. When will it end? Madness!

Pretty simple no one told them to follow the truck and for the driver to be insulted by someone telling him “You could have stopped and told us you weren't a petrol tanker” if I was the driver of that truck I wouldn’t have acknowledged him at all, might sound harsh but sorry if I was a truck driver my responsibility is to transport good not acknowledging people what I’m carrying... It is very obvious what a fuel truck looks like... but everyone knows what the bus looks like and races to be in front...

Hilarious It's like when you hope you see a bus to get home approaching in the distance, but as it gets closer, it turns out to be a Royal Mail truck (I seem to have lost my glasses) Last fuel crisis in 2001, the kind people at First let me buy £30 worth at Greenford Depot. I might try to syphon some fuel out of one of the dead 318 buses at Tottenham later if things get desperate www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10050749/Soldiers-start-delivering-petrol-UK-forecourts-Monday.htmlWe might be queuing for food next
