A government minister said today the the situation around the petrol station crisis is under control though it doesn't seem to tally up with anyone's experiences it seems across social media with drivers wanting petrol or even merely stuck in the jams that come from the queues commenting it hasn't changed. It seems all those panic brought at the weekend are starting to run low just in time for this weekend so it's going to be just the same again! My local garage is closed again.

Had to drive to Oxford today, saw plenty of petrol stations, most open (only a couple were closed), people filling up as normal, no queues. Perhaps some other areas have local problems.

This nonsense needs to end, it is completely ruining our services.
I spent 3 days trying to get diesel for my car. In the end has to get up at 5am to go get some sat in a queue for 37 minutes and whilst watching others I realised that people were moving on from the pumps rather quickly however none had Jerry cans. By the time I got to the pumps the person that was at that particular pump bwfor more topped up £6 of diesel!!
So clearly already had nearly a full tank. Now the amount of diesel wasted travelling to the petrol station, queuing up then travelling back is probbaly £4 worth. Honestly some are so selfish.

I thought he was being a Good Samaritan but he must have had a full tank already (I on the other hand bought 47L of petrol costing a good £65 odd as I was low!)

It does indeed seem to be certain areas - I was in Reading on Tuesday and only one petrol station I passed had a queue, most were normal and one was completely empty despite having fuel

It is down to certain areas. Spoke with people who have said they have easily got petrol/diesel with less than a 10 minute wait, within the M25. The places with the most insane amount of queues still are the places that has anti-car councils measures, the places that had supermarkets cleared out for crazy panic buying or toilet paper syndrome.

That person that topped up £6 is typical of the ass holes that are still going almost every few days now to make sure they are full to the brim. Really boils my blood at the shear stupidity of some people. It would not surprise me that it would have been the same person to buy a diesel SUV to drive 2 miles every odd day, so would never see the benefit over a petrol engine. Or have their engine running at idle for minutes and see nothing wrong with it.

I know people have done this before the pandemic at petrol stations that were more expensive to get them to a cheaper petrol station to completely full up. As minimum spend if 2 litres IIRC. But to do this now in a crisis, you really would need to have a serious look in the mirror to think what is going on inside that head.

I,ve read somewhere prices are going to rise again and seen some local garages have bumped up there prices 1.47 at a Shell in Newham .

The impact on local bus services here in Kent seems to be increasing. Huge delays, and some routes on large diversions just to avoid petrol station queues. This is on top of the severe driver shortages.
