Don't you love the hypocracy of Khan: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-66820972The irony of boarding an aircraft to fly round the world to discuss climate change and pollution. A case of the political elite: "Do as I say, not as I do". Doesn't he want clean air? How many children is he going to kill taking this flight.

He won't kill any child by taking this flight because I don't believe there's been a case of plane pollution over the Atlantic killing children. How else is he meant to get to New York exactly? There's many things to bash Khan over, list is almost endless. But this isn't one of them.

Should we start doing this on a more industrial scale?

(Grins smugly, having just used a Turboprop plane that is 62% more efficient than conventional airliners ) I couldn't see him taking a boat, chucking out more CO2 from its diesel engines... but the roadworks bringing cars to a stop wont help pollution (especially if one's stop/start function in the car is impaired due to running HVAC systems (aircon) or low battery... idling causes more pollution along with 20 zones where cars use higher revs in low gears, so yes it is a nonsense. Clamping down on utility firms who seem to find an excuse to dig up a road for ultra fast broadband (usually after gas and water firms have dug up the same section of road) would show a commitment to getting traffic moving again. It's the fact you never see Khan (where Ken and Bojo were more prominent and representing London) - I doubt we'll see Khan handing the Champions League trophy to Bayern Munich's Harry Kane after a tense win over Man United in the Final at Wembley next year, for instance the only existence of Khan we see is through these schemes that seem to irritate Londoners, rather than dealing with knife crime, cost of living and other things close to people's hearts

It was a tongue-in-cheek dig at the mayor and the catchphrases he frequently wheels out.
Do you not see the irony of hosting a summit where 100 mayors (and their staff) fly in from four corners of the globe to discuss climate change and pollution something that is claimed is an existential threat. Here's an idea. Don't fly anywhere and host it as webinar! Lead by example.

This is the man that tells us air pollution kills children, so if what he is saying is correct, he is actively contributing to child deaths. You use propaganda to impose your will on other and not expect it to be thrown back in your face when you do the same. You say one thing and do something else, of course they will be uproar and complaining. Noone loves a hypocrite. He is as bad as Boris in the trustworthy stakes.

But that's not Khan's hypocrisy in that case, it's a fault of the event organisers.

But that's not Khan's hypocrisy in that case, it's a fault of the event organisers. He is and has been the chair of the C40 group (who are organising the conference) since December 2021. Things like what, where and when to stage the group's major conference would fall under his direction and responsibility. And if not just him, then the lot of them should be dismissed if they cannot see their own rank hypocrisy. Khan and his staff have a penchant for flights:

You can try to deflect as much as you like, but his choice, so deserves all the criticism he gets. If it was not for Will Norman, sure the Mayor would win most useless person in London award.

Well he was the main one that encourage the nonsense of the girl killed by car pollution, and pratting on about cars killing people. So he is in effect killing people taking that plane. He could have done like Greta and used a paddle boat.

Sadiq Khan: 'Ulez possible as public educated on health and climate change'Sadiq Khan has told a US audience that it is "important to take people with you" if you want to reduce air pollution and tackle climate change.www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-66841678The guy is a fool. The crap about educating people seriously makes me want to slap him with a wet fish. End of the day if you are EDUCATING, then you would have then done it as zero emission only. The fact you want to charge £12 is no deterrent. If it were £250 as what they did for the LEZ to buses then maybe it would have been seen otherwise. This is clearly nothing but a stealth tax.

The latest poll shows Khan is just 3 points ahead. With a real push for a good turnout, he can be kicked out and ULEZ extension reversed.

Labour voters tend to be the ones who often don't turn up to vote. If you push for a good turnout then chances are that Khan will have a more comfortable victory.

You do realise thats just lip service right when they talk about reversing ULEZ. They may say it just to get the votes and then those that vote for them will try and lap it up only to get sucker punched when they go back on their word. Rinse and repeat. Personally I don't see ULEZ being reversed.
