Some routes have been exclusively diesel. Only a few double-deck bus routes have never had a low-emissions bus working (whether battery-hybrid, smart-hybrid, electric, pantograph or hydrogen-powered) remain.
66†, 121, 150*†, 175†, 191#, 291, 294, SL7.
* - hybrids have appeared on the 150D service operated by Go-Ahead, as well as extras to help with the Central Line issues in early 2024.
† - Due for an allocation of low-emission buses for new contract.
# - Apparently LT2 ran on the 191, but I can't see much proof this occurred.
Which one will be the last? I'm predicting route 291.
If I've missed any out, or any routes on my list have had the elusive working, let me know.
Just to clarify, I’m not talking about routes allocated diesels, I am looking for routes which have never seen a low or non-emissions bus.

The 198 (and certainly the 250 and N250) will be next off the list with the new HAs. Which one will be the last? I'm predicting the 217. If I've missed any out, or any routes on my list have had the elusive working, let me know. I predict the next one you take off your list will be the 157 as it has seen the Abellio 64-reg MMCs

Also, I thought a MV had once done the D8?

LED blinded Smart Hybrid 11038 (when that was on loan to RM) did went out on the 62 in December 2020 by a RM driver who covered a duty for BK and the 217 has seen few rare VWH workings when the route was with Metroline.
Also looking at LVF, 11036 did went out on the N86 once in February 2019 by a WH driver and that was used for about 3 hours which would have done at least a round trip on the route.

The 150's school journeys, when with SI, saw EHV's sometimes, as shown here. LVF says the 486 has seen MHV7, not sure if this was just a login.

With the 150 it all depends if you do count the GAL operated school trip which only ran from Becontree Heath to Gants Hill in that direction only, not the full route to Chigwell Row or towards Becontree Heath and if anyone is thinking only the whole 150 route to be counted then it is a no.

I myself would count them as they did show the 150 number, not 150D.

The question is about routes that have only every seen diesel buses
