So Storm Eunice is looking to be very disruptive on Friday! Train operating companies are starting to advice of special timetables and longer journey times.
Some are suggesting the storm could be as bad as 1987! I remember that very well.

I think more of the issues will be around the Wales area.

It's all changed now www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10523279/Storm-Eunice-Government-calls-COBRA-meeting-Met-Office-issues-rare-RED-warning.htmlAmber alert for Southern Counties (which is London as well) - I have 7 laptop calls in Brentford, travel to West London is bad enough and I remember how the storm on 1987 took out so many trees in Ealing. I'll be seeing how the weather is then making an executive decision as I don't want to risk driving into a falling tree or getting the van crushed by one Lots of debris from building sites to watch for as well. Check where your car is parked, watch our for trampolines in the garden taking to the skies and be safe

Some are suggesting the storm could be as bad as 1987! I remember that very well. Great Western Railway has announced that tickets for travel on Friday 18th February may be used to travel today (Thursday 17th February), or can be used any day up to Monday 21st February. Tickets will be refunded in full if passengers decide not to travel. A "significantly reduced" service will operate on all main lines. The main line in South Wales will be closed, and trains to and from South Wales will only operate as far as Bristol Parkway. Some branch lines in Devon and Cornwall will also be closed. Stagecoach South West is also advising of "substantial disruption to travel" and some services may be suspended. They are advising passengers to avoid travelling if possible.

Both Severn Bridge crossings will be closed. The Tamar Road Bridge linking Devon and Cornwall will also be closed which will affect bus services between Plymouth and Cornwall. Devon and Cornwall Police is advising motorists to stay at home unless their journey is "absolutely necessary". The Dartford Bridge Crossing will be closed, with southbound traffic directed through one of the tunnels. Avanti West Coast is operating a very restricted service on Friday. Just one train an hour will operate between London Euston and Rugby, with every other train continuing to Birmingham New Street. Shuttle services will operate between Rugby-Manchester Piccadilly, Rugby-Preston, Rugby-Birmingham New Street-Preston, and Preston-Glasgow each every 2 hours with an hourly shuttle between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street.

TFL are advising Essential travel only
Due to the Met Office's red warning over Storm Eunice, customers are advised to only travel if essential.
We are doing all we can to ensure we are prepared for any impact with extra staff ready to respond quickly to any incidents but some services will be affected by the extreme weather

Feels more like a really windy day than a major storm.
