I think we can safely say all 2024 and 2025 tenders will be for 6 and 5 years respectively if existing. After that the financial aspect will have to be taken into account if only new starting in 2026. As I worked out for example on the 107 there's about a £700k saving over 7 years on the existing award. Was around 850k a year!! for the 53 on existing. That's alot of money to turn down in my opinion just to bring a deadline forward 2 to 4 years. Exactly this! Yes the 2030 deadline looks a good headline but the practicalities and cost could be a factor in the deadline not being met.
Will be interesting to see what happens with routes like the 25 and 425 as this could ran until 2027 and even then could have done another 5 years until 2032. Also have to consider the LTs as they are getting older all the time and will need replacing or converting to electric (If trail is successful)

I said about this the other day but got shouted down by the usual subjects. I don't post stuff if it isn't true, or if there isn't 100% assurance add a caveat... Well maybe you should quote a source for the information or at least wait until it’s in the public domain! . Anyway that is a presentation and assume still subject to further funding!! I am still extremely doubtful the deadline will be met! There will be an awfully of tenders expiring close to 2030 which will put pressure on the manufacturers! O and also existing electric buses from around 2016 will also be close to a age when they might be end of life and need replacing. The very nature of a target is it may not be met - I think TB123 was perfectly within his rights to post what he did. I’ll generally trust what he posts to be true.

To me it's just not needed. 2032 and 2034 for a small amount of routes is hardly deviating for air quality of London. The probably £2.50 bus fares will do more damage to the environment with more people thinking its cheaper to drive then take the bus will cause more damage.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know a local example they are familiar with of lights being rephased? Curious to know what that might entail considering the buses aren't timetabled on BRT level precision timetabling.

Buses are GPR trackable these days. Plenty of options out there, both hardware and software.

I did see that Canning Town and North Greenwich bus stations got the new destination finder look with the black background.
