With RPI at 11% (and CPI at 9%) seems a bit of a click bait headline His problem is that having promised he would get a no strike agreement in his manifesto 5-6 years ago, he is now letting the Unions strike and dictate, and if he puts fares up 10%, they will want a pay rise of similar 10%

Well this he has himself to blame. All the fare freeze for 4Y (or was it 5Y?) is coming home to roost You raise fares by 2% every year, you get a 10% rise in 5 years. You appear all communistic and don’t raise anything for 5Y, you raise it by 10% in one go and conveniently blame the other parties I for one have no sympathy for him. Knife crime up, acid attacks up, investment into transport down. Lousy job as a mayor

Say that too loud and RMT would strike against that. If the mayor came up with a no strike agreement I would eat a bus tyre.

Join the rest of the country. Stagecoach South West put their fares up 10% in March and Plymouth CityBus have also had a fares increase recently.

I think bus fares even with a 10% increase will be a a much more viable alternative to driving. Our fares bus fares offer excellent value compared to other places.

The Mayor is always playing politics and as usual neither the Mayor nor Government come out with credit. Ultimately the bus service doesn't run on fresh air, it needs funding and that can only come from Government subsidy or fares as TfL sadly don't have a magic money pot. Bus drivers deserve and need a pay rise and diesel costs are becoming ever higher, so the it is inevitable the bus service will cost more to run, and the alternative is further cuts. I would like to see a longer term government subsidy but sadly that isn't going to happen with the current Government and Mayor. This is only the firing of the starting gun on next year's fares rise, hopefully the actual fare increase will be somewhat more reasonable both for TfL as a whole and the railways. I would also prioritise lower fare rises for the buses and higher fare rises for the tube. This is because those who are less well off and are suffering the most in this cost of living squeeze deserve the most help and they tend to use buses more.

Fuel prices will go down, they always have in the past whenever they've gone high.

Who was the alternative? Everyone would have been just as bad or worse. Well that's how you know this country is unserious from top to bottom and we are the ones to suffer from it! The people in London voted for their mayor, everyone thought he'd do the best job to represent the people and end of the day he still does represent what the large majority of people want in London which is a Labour mayor. The fact is that as long as government and the mayor are of opposing parties there'll always be party politics.
