Morden Bus Station is terrible. Too much chaos with buses stopping right next to the reversing stands and stops overflowing with passengers. I’ve seen 154s and 157s having to stand at the first stop and then passengers swarming around the doors of them thinking they’re in service.

Walthamstow Central bus station is not good because not a enough space for all the routes There are additional stands that are used for TfL car and maintenance vehicles IIRC. Always space can be created by removing them

I’ve seen 154s and 157s having to stand at the first stop and then passengers swarming around the doors of them thinking they’re in service. I wouldn’t describe it as a bus station, just the station forecourt. Ironically it was considerably better in the 90s when the 93 used to stop on the other side of the barriers freeing space inside the forecourt before the council remodelled the road layout. There is a long term plan to demolish loads of buildings in Morden and create a new public square where the station forecourt is so there should be new stands. The council have been mooting this for years so whether it actually gets done remains to be seen but it fully explains why TfL have not done much to solve the problem that is Morden. www.merton.gov.uk/system/files?file=0520morden20merton20local20plan20reg1920july21.pdf

Walthamstow Central bus station is not good because not a enough space for all the routes WC is probably one of the better stations if not the best. Simple, many access/exit points, good bus priority, information desk, live arrival screens, served by buses in both directions, easy interchange with LU/overground.

Stratford Bus station is a bad bus station in London because it’s too busy and not a Stand Space for all routes I don’t understand how a bus station can be bad because it’s busy - it shows it’s being used which is one of the main purposes of a bus station

Vauxhall has always been the best one in London personally - everything laid out relatively nicely and good connection to Underground & Rail. Walthamstow is a good one too

Stratford Bus station is a bad bus station in London because it’s too busy and not a Stand Space for all routes It’s become worse as the “refurbishment” made the area for standing smaller this squeezing space even more. Shows where buses are in the hierarchy of things Given that the 25/425 etc all serve the bus station both ways, the number of buses serving the station has increased. I especially don’t like the alighting point being before the westbound stop for the 25/425/276/D8 as you often get a queue of buses waiting which can spill onto the previous gyratory and also block buses trying to leave (it’s a tight turn on exit and buses need both lanes to turn left properly) The buses on stand facing north also have to dive completely blind given the layout and it’s very tight. Plus the bus stops for 25/86/425 eastbound as well as 104/238 are almost always overflowing so very messy overal

Brent Cross bus station can be really hectic at times and at times, some buses find it hard to find stand space. The new Brent Cross West station may alleviate some of the pressure by having some routes terminate there instead.

Just for a bit of fun, I tried to research how many bus stations there are in London served by TfL routes. I came up with the following.
Good points above about Vauxhall and Walthamstow being well laid out and of course both adjacent to LU, coincidentally both of course Victoria Line - Apart from Vauxhall and Walthamstow I've also a soft-spot for the bus stations that have been around 'for ever' e.g. Victoria, Turnpike Lane, Aldgate, Hounslow and of course Heathrow Central. Busiest in terms of bus movements? I guess Stratford, Edgware, West Croydon and Harrow.
Addington Village Interchange
Aldgate Bus Station
Beckton Bus Station
Becontree Heath Bus Station
Brent Cross Shopping Centre
Canada Water Bus Station
Canning Town Bus Station
Crystal Palace Bus Station
East Croydon Bus Station
Edgware Bus Station
Edmonton Green Bus Station
Eltham Bus Station
Finsbury Park Interchange
Grove Park Bus Station
Hammersmith Bus Station
Harrow Bus Station
Heathrow Central Bus Station
Hounslow Bus Station
Cromwell Road Bus Station
Fairfield Road Bus Station
