North Finchley bus station always feels pretty atrocious to me - not particularly safe to get to; feels dark and unwelcoming; adds little value in terms of interchange and so on. Ugh! It's been pretty shabby since day 1. Very gloomy + dull and a bit of an haven for anti-social behaviour (graffiti around the station and urinating come to mind) That saying, it is always busy inside so doesn't feel totally dangerous and can easily get an bus. I believe it was closed a couple of times last year due to safety issues.
Think Edgware and Brent Cross are probably the best for easily navigating which bus you want and which stop if you can forgive buses bunching in queues.
Pretty sure a woman was hit and killed by a bus within a few weeks of the opening of the bus station opening as well

NF bus station is structurally very flawed long term health and safety wise. Although the alternative would be to cross the road for an bus station/stop (very awkward to plan out) , which I assume is why the current station exists with no alternative

Speaking of Hanger Lane I think that Hanger Lane should have a bus station similar to what Hammersmith has.

Hanger Lane junction really needs a complete overhaul full stop but this country doesn't like spending money even in good times - were it Japan or numerous European countries, they'd of got something done by now

I was thinking in the roundabout like how Hammersmith has its bus station in the middle of the roundabout. Somehow incorporate the Tube Station into it.

Just for a bit of fun, I tried to research how many bus stations there are in London served by TfL routes. I came up with the following. Good points above about Vauxhall and Walthamstow being well laid out and of course both adjacent to LU, coincidentally both of course Victoria Line - Apart from Vauxhall and Walthamstow I've also a soft-spot for the bus stations that have been around 'for ever' e.g. Victoria, Turnpike Lane, Aldgate, Hounslow and of course Heathrow Central. Busiest in terms of bus movements? I guess Stratford, Edgware, West Croydon and Harrow. Addington Village Interchange Aldgate Bus Station Beckton Bus Station Becontree Heath Bus Station Brent Cross Shopping Centre Canada Water Bus Station Canning Town Bus Station Crystal Palace Bus Station East Croydon Bus Station Edgware Bus Station Edmonton Green Bus Station Eltham Bus Station Finsbury Park Interchange Grove Park Bus Station Hammersmith Bus Station Harrow Bus Station Heathrow Central Bus Station Hounslow Bus Station Cromwell Road Bus Station Fairfield Road Bus Station Mortlake Bus Station North Finchley Bus Station Orpington Bus Station Peckham Bus Station Prince Regent Bus Station Richmond Bus Station Stratford Bus Station Stratford City Bus Station Totteham Hale Bus Station Turnpike Lane Bus Station Vauxhall Bus Station Victoria Bus Station Walthamstow Bus Station West Croydon Bus Station White City Bus Station You forgot Wimbledon Bus Station. I admit I didn't know there was one at Wimbledon. I prefer in this scenario to say An additional bus station is at Wimbledon rather than that the person forgot it.

My 112 in June was due to leave around the same time as a 13 & 460. There was hardly the space for the 112 to pull in front of the others. So a poor design really.

Familiar with most of the bus stations, but not all. Can you still consider Becontree Heath a "bus station" since the development works and the relocation? Isn't it a "bus stand" nowadays instead as I don't believe buses pick up passengers from the new location? Which brings me to a point... Stupid question alert.... but what does the forum consider definition of a "Bus station"? Is it somewhere whereby buses both stand and pickup passengers? If so, does Ilford Roden Street constitute to a "bus station"? The weird thing is the bus stop after the roundabout still announces Becontree Heath Bus Station. It has been nearly 4 years since it has gone! Years before the buses used to stop in the station and it had dedicated bus stops. In the years prior to demolition it purely became just a bus stand with no passenger boarding allowed.

So in May I travelled on BCE47104 on the 183 from Harrow Bus Station to Church End then VH45134 on the 125 to Tally Ho Corner specifically to take a look at North Finchley Bus Station that I'd never visited...I saw a line of 13s parked-up and looked for a bus stop - it took me a minute or two to realise that the bus station was self-contained indoors...doh! I too found it a bit gloomy and not a particularly nice experience but VMH45339 soon pitched up on the 13 and I was on my way... I broadly agree with your comments - Brent Cross is for me 'ok' without being outstanding but probably my favourite two bus stations are both at end of tube lines: Edgware that you mention and I also really like Walthamstow.

The point would be a better interchange between routes. There's only five routes there and it would look chaotic to build it from scratch As well as Hanger Lane not being the best roundabout to have works on since that is a very busy roundabout with journeys that cannot be diverted very well (cough cough A40 (W), where a diversion would mean A40's users squeezing onto the already busy (and one lane in the wrong places) A4020)

I quite like Harrow bus station because it has a nice shelter in the Middle of the road with shops and there's a board that tells you how long until your bus. I used to like picking up a paper on the way home after doing my shopping there
