Ah I forgot about where the 131 actually stands. But surely if a E400EV will struggle then the BYD won’t be much better. Could be an interesting watch to see what happens with it then! The 333 order should be announced sooner, which uses the same stand The 333 however, approaches it from a different direction - the left turn from the stands to Mitcham Road is easier than the left turn from Tooting Broadway to the stands. On top, at least one EA has been on the 333 which whilst not 11.1m, shouldn't stop 10.9m BYD versions from being ordered. 10.7m Darts were the official allocation of the 127 under Mitcham Belle & Centra & Omnicity DD's & Olympus made a number of appearance on the 127 too.

Finally some interior E500EV photos from Hong Kong. Similar to the E100EV and E400EV, no interior battery packs in sight, and the interior layout is pretty much identical to the diesel version -- very much an advantage compared to the mainland Chinese manufacturers who have yet to figure out how to get rid of the batteries inside the passenger compartment cannibalising valuable space. Photos from ADL.

For many years a distinctive visual feature of Hong Kong buses compared to UK ones was the lack of a lower-deck rear window (I think at that time taken up by AC equipment?)
With the move to electric the UK models will no longer look that different.

With the move to electric the UK models will no longer look that different. I wish there would be a common model with a back window, Electroliner seating layout and E400EV iBus layout. The Electroliner iBus looks a bit clunky and the lack of back window is inconvenient

The E100EV looks amazing, I'm glad they have increased the headroom space in the lower deck of the E400EV. However, I presume the 11.1m length would prevent quite a few orders in London, unless the turning circle is miles better than the BYD based E400EV. I'd imagine a combined order for the S2 and 439 is on the cards. The new 400EV has peak motor output of 410kw (550 HP), so ought to be able to climb hills at reasonable speed Loool, so far I have found none of the new Alexander Dennis products can climb hills well bar the 67reg E400mmcs we have. Which are Hill beasts! The BCEs despite having 2x 150kw (407.8HP) are useless on hills.

View AttachmentADL have confirmed the TfL specifications of the new E100 and E400 EV products. The TfL spec E400EV is somewhat sensibly, built to a shorter 10.5m length rather than the normal 11.1m length Attachments:

Let's hope so, they look good. Yes I agree about the 439 and R routes. The 439 can start off with the SEs from the 470 when it gets shortened. Let's hope the start of something else other then City's aswell for Go Ahead. I wonder if the 262/333/321/473 will be the first break in the chain. I think the S3 will stick with the Metrocity.

I suspect even Abellio or Arriva if they win the SL7 would give consideration to the new E400EV if it proves to be any good. And yes, I can see Arriva winning the SL7! Not seen any Millbrook testing yet on the energy efficiency, thus far the Electroliner/Kite has shown to be the best.
