I said I will pxss myself if the 97 result with existing vehicles happens. THIS IS ACTUALLY HILARIOUS. As the famous Andy Gray once said in 2002 when Arsenal beat United in Old Trafford "Another Goal The Run continues" πππππππππ

The 97 really gets treated like dog sh*t.ππ

318 had the same buses since 2012 until 3 months ago when the ENRs moved in from DT... hopefully some more MMC ENs from Enfield will see off the last of the E200 Darts...

Up until the 275 went to Stagecoach in 2012, this route had NEVER had new buses specifically ordered for the route.
Arriva retained the route in 2005 and was supposed to get new VLAs but that was later changed and the new buses were reallocated to the 123.

Maybe not by private operators, but route 275 did gain new Titans in Autumn 1981.

Did it not get new VLW's or was that for the 20, struggling to remember of my head.

I also recall something about the 20 leaving its buses at DX when it moved to EC.

139: last gained new buses in January 2010 but it only gained them in October of that same with the 60 reg TEs / TEHs. Then it 61 reg TEHs to make it fully TEH. Then it was given the 13βs contract and took its existing VHs (both Gemini 2s and 3s) and VHRs (I donβt know why the 139 wasnβt withdrawn considering itβs contract had come to the end, the 13 didnβt retained its contract and the 82 kept its number π but oh well). Then in 2020 it was won by Metroline with existing and new buses bus the new buses never materialised or arrived. I thought that the 139 was won by Metroline with existing hybrids from the 34 and some 61 plate TEHs to make up the balance (no new buses). The contract started off with those ex 34 hybrids, not sure where they are now as the 139 allocation has changed to be mainly TEHs both 61 plate and MMC (ex 332 prior to LT conversion) with a few VWHs. Arguably the TEHs suit the route well, but in some ways it is nice to have a route with so many different types of buses allocated. No doubt the TEHs and VWHs can last out the contract if need be, when it will probably get electric buses. The whole 13/82/139 bus numbering was a complete shambles. Sure people didn't want to lose the number 13 as originally proposed, but that was primarily because they didn't want to lose their link to the West End. Having said that it does makes some sense to keep lower number routes and what would have been more sensible is as you you suggest to have axed the 139 (a relatively new creation), and kept both the 13 and 82. The 13 could then have been re-routed from the Finchley Road down West End Lane / Abbey Road following the 139 to Baker Street. The 13 could then have been extended to Waterloo to cover the loss of the 139. Today's 139 would therefore be the 13, the 82 remaining as was and the 139 axed.
