Recently saw an old video of an Arriva Guildford bus operating on London Route 85. As someone who only started following London buses from 2005ish this seemed very weird and unexpected seeing Arriva in that area.
So I was wondering if there are any other instances of finding an operator on a route where you don't usually expect it.
I guess another example would be when Arriva/Tellings golden miller had their brief stint on the E10

Arriva with the 337 in Richmond, Metroline with the 493 in Tooting.
Some Non-TFL ones too, like the 715 in Kingston as Stagecoach London would never run a service anywhere that far west.

Not long left for Stagecoach on the 715 in Kingston as that route is transferring from Stagecoach to Falcon on Surrey CC tender at the end of next month. The 458 in Kingston also changes operator, moving from Diamond/Rotala to Whitebus.

There was a time in the early 00s when Metrobus covered mobility routes in Romford!
Sulivans on the 549 does seem odd to me but not as extreme as other examples.

GAL on the N11 in Ealing and Acton. Normally I associate GAL with South London but it’s strange seeing it in Ealing it was even weirder when the N11 went to Wembley and seeing GAL in Wembley, Alperton and Perivale.

Arriva on the 340 in Harrow. Arriva use dominate Harrow what with them operating the 258, 340, 640, H18 and H19 but not now.

Arriva/TGM on the E10 2014-17. Possibly one of the most bizzare things that have happened to the bus scene locally to me, not least because at the time (just after the First buyout) pretty much every other route in Ealing was run by Metroline.

Armchair on the 493 as well before it was fully absorbed into Metroline MTL London ran the N2 at one point which is very unusual for a night route in my part of the world. Blue Triangle riding to the rescue of various South London routes with stints on the 53 (due to Blackheath sinkhole), 60 (due to collapse of Capital Logistics) & 185 (collapse of Easylink) Mobility route 953 in Romford was run by Metrobus with MDP's from MB - dead runs via the M25 - londonbusesbyadam.zenfolio.com/p98365236/hde8dd287#hde8dd287The 90's & early 00's, long before Metrobus was absorbed into the rest of Go-Ahead London, saw the N109 and replacement N159 (the latter for just the first 2 years) run by London Central from Q which was a very rare sight south of Brixton, let alone down in Croydon, Coulsdon & New Addington

Tellings Golden Miller which i believe had a base around Heathrow ran the S3. Whilst I didn't know it at the time it probably wasn't a massive surprise when in 2000 it passed to EB with the lovely cream ALX200 Darts.

Arriva on the 340 in Harrow. Arriva use dominate Harrow what with them operating the 258, 340, 640, H18 and H19 but not now. The 142 also enters Harrow borough but doesn't enter Harrow town center. I believe it was operated by Arriva The 340 is soon going to RATP though

404 run by RATP because it doesn't meet any other RATP route and Coulsdon to Tolworth are far from each other
335 Arriva for the same reason
W5 Stagecoach as above. No other Stagecoach route enters Haringey borough!
464 run by Abellio. Although it does meet the 130 at New Addington which is M also run by Abellio, Biggin Hill doesn't strike me as an Abellio area. Same with the 367 at Bromley and Beckenham

Metroline route 30 in Hackney alongside the 393 in Clapton Pond. If we want to go to past operated routes, I'll nominate the 34 in Walthamstow and Tower Transit 444 in Edmonton and Turnpike Lane
RATP still plays an odd operater in Enfield with the 125 serving both Southgate and Winchmore Hill. Being the borough mostly dominated by Arriva, Metroline, Go Ahead and Sullivan

Metroline operated the 205 initially - definitely not common to see it that far into East London.
