Increase in queues? I've noticed the complete opposite, that's the whole point of self service checkouts. Well I suggest visiting a supermarket on a weekend afternoon to see what I am talking. I experience this at Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys at Beckton. Tesco by far is the worse where you can’t easily get around the aisles because of customers waiting for the staffed tills. This is a reason I avoid shopping on weekends too much people…

They can go to the staffed checkouts, the number of people using cash is falling all the time. Because it's becoming more accessible to pay by contactless and through mobile pay The problem I find with that is many people are using that as excuse not to pay on the bus too. “My phone ran out of battery”…

You double tap the lock button, a battery dead indicator will flash up but it will still beam an NFC reading over to the terminal. I do think mobile payment is the future though, it's one less thing for people to carry around and it saves people fiddling around in bags to find the right card.

This is a reason I avoid shopping on weekends too much people… I always try and go in the morning and whenever I do enthusiast things it’s almost always then or at night. It is impossible to do things quickly in the afternoon with all the car and foot traffic, I’d gladly wake up and get things done early instead of sitting on a rammed bus loading and unloading for ages whilst going through trillions of temporary lights.

Indeed you wouldn’t walk into a shop and say “My phone ran out of battery” sorry but how embarrassing… I still carry at least one card. Cannot rely on just a battery operated device.

I am the same. I always aim to get into town after 8:30am and on a Saturday or Sunday I don’t bother after 10am too many people out…

In addition to this one Idiot once got on and asked me how do I use “Apple Pay” to his own phone. Told him I shouldn’t have to teach you how to use a device that you own and said to him if you can read it shows “Double click to pay” I could have said worse to this fool but don’t come on board ask me how to use a device that you own…! Overall it seemed like he was trying to pull a fast one and avoid paying, chose the wrong person to try that on. When he got off continued walking and staring at my bus…

Same with me. I'm a morning person, I'd happily wake up at 6 on a day off, do stuff that I normally do and be back home sometime in the afternoon, rather than leave things too late in the day

Another thing is when people don't bother to carry cards with them but only cash. Some places are cashless now especially places like stadiums.

It also breaks up the day to have an afternoon snooze, catch up with things at home and feel more awake for the evening I also notice on my Saturdays in London that the mornings are quieter and the buses less busy than in the afternoons.

Wilko is pretty bleak now! All that’s left is tat and full price items like washing detergent which I assume won’t be reduced in price until the last minute or sold onto another supplier / returned.
I imagine the shops will start closing very soon. All talk of deals seems to have gone quiet.

Wilko: All 400 stores to close by early October www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-66743050I feel sorry for the staff but this is what happens when your owners effectively steal £77m from an already failing business.

If you owned a failing company, would you not want to try and savlvage as much from the company before it went bust, or would you be happy to see all your money go up in flames? Let's be honest, Wilko was going to the wall no matter what. How can salvaging your money be classed as stealing? Sounds like prudent financial management to me. You could have maybe kept Wilko open for a couple of months more ... just delaying the inevitable.

And now are leaving taxpayers facing a £16m pension bill. The Wilkinson family should plug that gap. There's a precedent here, with Arcadia & Phillip Green a while back.
