Possibly not now. If something else can provide the service to the Old Town then tbh the 407 could probably drop to every 15 mins again with the SL7 now every 15 mins. There's a consultation that's being released for the SL5 to extend to Sutton which would leave space open for the split Is it definitely being released or is it just speculation following the Superloop 2 map connecting the two routes at Sutton as opposed to Croydon?

Those who used to get the 455 to/from Croydon down on Purley Way now either have to use the tram or the long 289 and the IKEA/the area around it now has no direct bus to Croydon (I know about the 264 but it is a bit far), as well as South Croydon Station not having a bus... the 312 really should've gone via the 455 to South Croydon station... or just leave it how it was That argument would hold up if the tram didn’t cost exactly the same as a bus and wasn’t far more frequent. But aren't the trams not that great right now... like a useful back up would be good to have and the trams don't really go to Beddington

There's a thread thats just been opened and there's an image of someone holding a piece of paper with the SL5/SL7 proposed routes

That's good then, but it isn't really ideal as I wouldn't really trust the service until more trams get fixed up.

The 312 should have been rerouted via Pamphisford Road & the 166 left unchanged but otherwise the Croydon changes have been alright so far. Still wonder if the 407/443 split will go ahead Yep I completely disagree with the OP about the 455 changes making things worse. From my point of view it has made things far more simple although the 312 should really have gone via Pampisford Road and the 166 should have been left unchanged but aside from that the changes have been a net positive. As I’ve said many times before though, I do think the 439 could be so much more useful than it is now. What in particular would you change about the 439? I remember I think there were people complaining about the 434 being rerouted onto Godstone Road.

I do think the 439 should have gone to Croydon to help passengers who would've taken the 455 on that section. The trams are a good alternative but they're closed almost every weekend

I would extend it at both ends, from Waddon Marsh to either Valley Park or Beddington Lane ASDA and from Whyteleafe South to Caterham on the Hill.

When route 91 is extended to Wood Green, route 329 could be withdrawn. Route 91 could be further extended to Enfield, and replaced between Trafalgar Square and King's Cross by an extension of route 87.

Enfield to King's Cross would mirror the Piccadilly line a little bit. Plus you'd be breaking a Turnpike Lane- Wood Green link

All I would see is a less reliable service from the 329 on its long routing. It's not only on its routing, the frequency is very unmatched trying to replace a 7 minute peak for a 10 minute service.

I think that's because TFL have been lax on the Kenley routing. I do think the 439 should have gone to Croydon to help passengers who would've taken the 455 on that section. The trams are a good alternative but they're closed almost every weekend I'm not sure the 439 is the solution here, and really with the 289 converting to DDs, most of the 439 isn't needed, and could have been covered by a more minor change in the Purley area. For example, they could have just extended the 359 from Purley to Whyteleafe - also switching to shorter SDs but at a higher frequency. Regarding the 455's links to/from Beddington, I think most of the 455 should have been kept as it was. I'm not sure the 455 necessarily was too long, just very indirect and with some duplication with the S4. So with the S4 now covering Wallington-Beddington, my suggestion would be to keep the 455 from Old Lodge Lane to Beddington, then take over the 463 up to Pollards Hill. The rest of the 463 could then be restructured. I think the Beddington-Wallington section would be fine with just the 410/S4. And the Wallington-Coulsdon end could maybe then merge with the 404? Could also consider extending from Wallington to Sutton for some new links, maybe taking over some of the S3's local roads here - making the S3 more direct between Banstead Road and Sutton. And add some more journeys to the 633 too if needed. And with the 455 kept at Old Lodge Lane, the 312 could maybe take over the 410 to Wallington, also converting to DDs. The 410 could then terminate at South Croydon garage if needed. I also think the 407 split is still worth looking at, particularly if the SL5/SL7 changes go ahead (as stand space in Croydon would be freed up). However I think the Sutton end of the 407 could have more potential beyond Croydon, maybe could take over the 466 to Addington, since it's been mentioned the 466 is much busier at the Caterham end.

Even the often suggested 67/329 merger’s reliability has been brought into question. King’s Cross-Enfield I think would be too long.

I think merging the 194, SL7 and 278 into one massive route would be very useful. I think many people would greatly benefit from a direct bus service from Bell Green to Ickenham, especially since it's partly express.
Similarly, the 405, 468 and 363 should be merged into a single route. It's just what everyone was waiting for: a single bus route that goes from Redhill to Crystal Palace via E&C.
My final words of wisdom: merging the 347, 86 and 25. It would drastically improve the public transport connections to Ockendon Station, whilst also removing the entirely unnecessary overlap between the 25 and the 86.
