Question why are the W prefix bus routes all over the place Walthamstow, Enfield and Harringay? W1-W6 were created in the 60s as part of the Bus reshaping plan that introduced a flat fare scheme based around Wood Green, hence the W prefix. There was also a W21 created at the same time but based in Walthamstow. I believe W7-W9 was an expansion of this scheme in neighbouring area of Edmonton and Crouch End but kept the same prefix. W10 likely created as there was already W8 and W9 in Enfield. W11-W19 is pretty self explanatory as a local network based around Walthamstow and the borough of Waltham Forest

Question why are the W prefix bus routes all over the place Walthamstow, Enfield and Harringay? The W prefix as of today stands for Wood Green, Walthamstow and Woodford on the current routes it serves in different areas. There's the W3 to W9 (and formerly the W10) that serves the Wood Green category, W13 and W14 for Woodford and the W11 to W19 for Walthamstow. Enfield from what I understand started when the W8 renumbered from the old 128 route as a flat fare introduction despite IIRC Enfield initially was meant to have the E prefix. There are also other prefixes that are far spread out despite sharing the same letter. H represents Hounslow, Harrow and Hampstead on the routes it serves.

Could be a possibility that the weekend night bus services will be restored once the night service on the Piccadilly Line is restored?
Why do think that no weekend night bus services weren’t created for the night service of the London Overground?

Could be a possibility that the weekend night bus services will be restored once the night service on the Piccadilly Line is restored? Why do think that no weekend night bus services weren’t created for the night service of the London Overground? 1 - TfL haven't said anything about the weekend night buses and they cost money to run so unlikely for now. 2 - The night overground is barely orbital, most of the stations are close to the center and have plenty of night buses to all over the surrounding areas. Compared to the underground, places such as High Barnet or Morden had no "local" night buses, only Central-bound ones.

I guess it's implying that they will return eventually, and its easier to label the services as suspended than to run consultations to withdraw them.

But they just did a consultation about withdrawing the night service on the 145.

But they just did a consultation about withdrawing the night service on the 145. I’d suspect there wasn’t the demand for the 145(N) so it definitely won’t be returning. As for the rest it is likely TfL have continued to tender them with a weekend night service so if they return at some point there is already a structure in place for a timetable, costs etc. If demand spikes they could come back, but who knows.

Somewhat off topic but are there are any nice village - like / picturesque pubs which are accessible by bus? An example being the five bells in chelsfield which the R7 goes to. Have some time on hand so trying to marry doing end to ends with pubs so I can also drink (with a car you can’t drink!)

Accessible by a short walk from Hoe Street up Orford Road or by the W12.

There’s the Old Orchard in Harefield with nice views of the lake and River Colne. You can get there on the U9
