Some rationalisation at this company is probably due. They can save money by reducing their overheads in the Alperton / Perivale area. The 297 is yet to be awarded and WJ have lost two big routes as of Oct next year. Also the 186 , if that goes it could give HD a problem. I hope they don’t lose it. 120 into SG makes sense. Presume AH would do engineering. Metroline do seem to have an abundance of spare capacity and I can't help thinking that the new Alperton garage would be of more use to Abellio or RATP but I guess there is no chance of that happening. On the face of it I think RATP are at disadvantage in outer west London with AV shedding big routes with only two fairly minor gains and one reallocation. Abellio’s new base, GW and Metroline having room at AH must be concerning for routes like H32/7/98. That said with pvr cuts ML could now suffer significantly in North London. HT losing buses in numbers could pose more problems. If ML end up losing the 168 and 271 with no replacements, add the 125,235,226,295 losses next year, that’s around 100 buses down.

Not surprised about PA closing, probably the most logical garage to close given all the excess capacity in the area. It's relatively small, and very close to both G and PV which have space available. Though I would still question the need for the new Alperton garage, with PV being round the corner with excess space still, could easily keep the 83/483 there in the long term.
Regarding reshuffles, I think this would be the best solution.
31 to KC - filling the space still available from the 214 (plus the 393 was previously rumoured to be moving there). Very close to the Camden Town terminus, and maintains a standardised VMH fleet with the 30/274.
90 to G - Not far from the line of route or the terminus at Northolt, has space available, and VMHs are already used on the 607/E9.
297 to PV - Very close to the line of route, and already has VWs.

The electric bus for Potters Bar local, the PB1, is YJ71 GTZ. There's no fleet number attached, so I will not hazard a guess there. I believe the intended number has already been changed once. Only noticed this today, but bus is now carrying YJ71 GPX. Maybe that is why entry into service is delayed.

Im pretty sure it’s been mentioned AC is pretty much full capacity, I think previous PVR cuts to the 52 and 98 have released about 8 buses, so probably not enough to fit most routes in it. I had completely overestimated how many routes PA had. When I looked at LBR to see what routes needed to be sent off elsewhere I couldn’t believe they were down to just four routes. I envisaged they had a lot more than that. I know they used to have the 105, was there anything else that’s recently departed from there making me think it used to be fuller? 90/297 very likely to PV as they’ll easily fit in once the 83/483 depart to the new Alperton base, tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if the 31 follows too to PV to make driver logistics easier. They run it very well from Perivale currently so not worth fixing what ain’t broke imo Could it take the 297 if the 460 went to PB and AC took the entire N98 allocation? But HD needs it’s N98 allocation for space. If the HD allocation for N98 then another night route needs to be moved it’s space or one of day routes will have to move.

Is PA being closed or being mothballed?

How would you ferry drivers from 31/90, KC/G garages respectively? Both very tricky. I don't see either of those happening. Do see the 297 moving to PV though.

I could see 90 more likely going to PV with driver changeovers being easier as it’s next to Hanger Lane station for central line

But PA’s perfect operational wise. Drivers can use the tube for changeovers. Oh well.

Metroline won’t want to restrict themselves from being able to win more work and won’t have much of an opportunity to do that if they close one - PA, have one (at least partially) taken over - WJ, and don’t reopen another - Alperton. The 83/483 have a very large combined PVR, so squeezing the PA routes, keeping the 83/483 there plus the two already have would likely bring it to (if not very close to) full capacity. So realistically the only garage they’ll probably have to gain significantly in that part of London would be G, and HZ if they won enough to reopen it, and even then I don’t think HZ is very big. So yes imo the new Alperton base would definitely be needed to be able to make significant gains, considering they’re apparently having a restructuring I’m guessing this is exactly why they’re doing it

Don’t you think that Metroline will need the new extra Alperton for the extra space so that they have enough space for tender wins.

Could it take the 297 if the 460 went to PB and AC took the entire N98 allocation? But HD needs it’s N98 allocation for space. If the HD allocation for N98 then another night route needs to be moved it’s space or one of day routes will have to move. I'm not entirely sure of the numbers but surely the loss of the X140 and the fact that the 292 has a smaller PVR means at least some of the space issues at HD are rectified. They still have the N140 to clear a few buses out but they could run a few of the N16's allocation if it really still a problem. But if AC gets space constraints of its own then it makes a lot of sense for the N98 to be fully operated from there.

Could possibly see HZ reopening temporarily to TFL work.
31/N31: PA to WJ 90: PA to HZ 297: PA to PV 483: PV to G
