I’m struggling to understand this, and what quite a number of the rest of you have said. Why not bid without electrics? To me it seems like TfL have fallen for promises Go-Ahead made that they knew were unlikely to be able to be fulfilled. Usually because the existing vehicles are too old but in this case it's bizarre because 88, 333 and 355 could easily have gone for a 5 year contract with existing buses The 333 is a route gain so not sure if any existing buses were available during bidding, the MHVs on it as we know being officially for the 89. Abellio/TUK presently have 20 reg buses for the 270 yet awarded with new electrics

So would SI have a problem with being wired up?

So would SI have a problem with being wired up? Depends on local grid capacity. If some downstream upgrades are required it starts to get very expensive.

So would SI have a problem with being wired up? Isn't SI leased though? Other than that I don't see why it would have a problem being wired up, plus it probably wouldn't need wiring. It's a shame because they operated many routes from that garage in the past, and unfortunately it has lost so much work. Literally back in 2022, the garage used to operate the D7, 135, 276, 300 and 376. And of course, many more that I am unable to think of from the top of my head! Now it only operates the 300 and 473, and that too with the 473 leaving to go to DS, once the BD11s are ready. Will the 147 still be moving to SI though? I think it would've been better to move the 15 too, given SI being quite close to the lining of the route.

Is there a width restriction on the 291 as I have noticed Hybrids never stray and is strictly Diesel Enviro operated.

Suitable only for 9.9m Tridents, some 10.4 Volvos have slipped out and got pulled off very quickly

The 240 also failed the test for B9TLs, but is able to use 10.5m Streetdecks.
