Overall I’m very happy DX got some new work and retained their last two regular routes and prevents all of East London just being ran by Stagecoach and Go Ahead.. Now the next step for the firm is to bring back the 128 and 173 to their rightful home 😍 doubt that would happen though. Overall the speculation about DX closing wasnt needed to be fair. At least everyone in the DX hate camp was proved wrong….
I'd also argue the 128 and 173 are at their rightful homes now. It's well and good having buses with ivory poles running around as people like variety, but once you live on a terribly operated route you just want an operator that can do the job properly and get you to where you need to go, which at least with the 173 would never happen. Individual garages do not bid for Routes know this from now… Agree 128 as NS is where is originally began from and I like the fact the original NS 431+ was reintroduced Disagree 173 as U was where it started from. DX I would say is the 173s home pretty much because of its historic years with Grey Green pre privatisation until Arriva London North. BK have only run it for 4 years. You only say the above because of your personal vendetta… |

DX intentionally didn't bid for one route, they then lost the route that would have gained new electrics. Then kept two routes on 3 year contracts despite all other routes in the exact same tranche got longer contracts. Think the stars align quite well for all the remaining work to come up within a very short window again.
I'd also argue the 128 and 173 are at their rightful homes now. If you want to believe something else then you can do that, but Beckton now gets a service which would never happen before. Even when the A13 is up the spout. |

How boring… Not sure what's boring when you keep responding to the conversation, you can believe whatever you would like to believe about a route that you seem to defend when it runs nowhere near you. It can't be understated that no matter what a fan favourite operator may be to some people, routes are there to take you from A to B and the 173 never used to do that until it changed operator. |

What is boring is 4 years on your still repeating the same boring record… So anything you say I take with a pinch of Sand as others in East London speak differently. I cannot say Salt because it’s a great seasoning for food… |

Yes indeed it is restricted to Enviros - I believe that is due to the tight roads around Woodlands Estate Correct, converting it to EV could end up being an issue. Suitable only for 9.9m Tridents, some 10.4 Volvos have slipped out and got pulled off very quickly The Yutong is 9.8m so if they were to bring out a vision zero spec then they could be ordered. |

Yesterday was a bad day on it but routes kept getting down to Beckton when under Arriva it would never happen. There is a photo on the Londoner FB of a 173 turning short yesterday at the North Circular. Wouldn’t really count that as Beckton as passengers would have to wait for another bus for onward travel as it’s not really practical to walk from there. The drivers comment seems to suggest that wasn’t the only turn. |
