Well that's all the supposed consultations meant to be coming out stopped at a red light. Alongside certain tender results. I suspect we'll see some consultations released in the next week (before the purdah period begins), although not anything controversial like the rumoured SL5/SL7 changes. Tender results will probably continue as normal throughout purdah, unless there is anything extremely controversial.

Agreed although I’m expecting the next tender result to be announced before 30th May 2024. On a separate note, I am guessing the official Purdah period for the 2024 General Election starts on 31st May 2024 or has it started now? Parliament dissolution takes place on the 30th of May, so yes after that will be Purdah. There's another week but I imagine it'll be used to effectively prepare for Purdah as opposed to a rush out of brand new policies. The next week in Parliament will be spent resolving and fast tracking any remaining open bills on the docket whilst simultaneously doing as you say preparing for purdah.

Would anyone happen to know when the two lens wing mirrors became mandatory on TfL buses?

Would anyone happen to know when the two lens wing mirrors became mandatory on TfL buses? 2019/2020? I believe the 20reg MMCs on the 25 and the 425 were the first examples

Would anyone happen to know when the two lens wing mirrors became mandatory on TfL buses? Do you mean the two lens manual mirrors or the two lens digital mirrors? The former I believe was from late 2019/early 2020. The Metrodeckers with RAPT have two piece manual mirrors on their 21 platers so presumably the digital variants was then still optional.

If those are the camera mirrors being referred to, I believe they became mandatory in late 2019 though the first buses to get them were the SE’s for the 209/378 and EH’s for the 197.

I do hope today Cricklewood Broadway has less traffic than yesterday. Most bus routes were curtailed. The 266 was curtailed at Cricklewood Broadway. Traffic aplenty on Chichele Road, Cricklewood Lane and Broadway...

Traffic aplenty on Chichele Road, Cricklewood Lane and Broadway... Then again, yesterday the 226 came, due to terminate at Park Royal (First General). New single deck, just before Harlesden the front doors got stuck (a new bus!). Luckily, due to a passenger just moving them, they started working again...yayyy. Methinks that should be the permanent terminus for 226 - First General.

Just stood in Stratford for half hour or so observing buses. Gotta say blooming heck, by this time next year there will only be 2 Diesel operated routes - 158 & D8!
Thankfully I can use rail/tube cost free which will help me get around but by 2026...
Time is ticking to fast and I am lost for words.

So let me get this right, to avoid using electric buses you are planning to use electric trains and tubes instead?

You can get around with tube in less than 3/4 of the time it will take you on the bus. I am still hoping for a U turn but again not looking very likely atm. I cannot live outside of London cos the transport connections are not as advanced and my immediate family are here.

So if you are fine with electric trains, what is the problem with electric buses which use pretty much the same energy source?
