Hi folks I want to see something here. Growing up I liked the euro 2 dennis trident zf variants. I have sat on the alx400, plaxton president and east lancs lolyne versions. Come to think of it at least one bus in each corner of London had a route allocated those tridents but I can't remember the full list. I know they were definitely prominent around North and East London. In South London (I'm going to split it between South East and West). I remembered the 3 and 196 having them in the early 2000s when going to Brockwell Park when they had those summer parties. South east on the other hand I vaguely remembered it on the 161 but I'm not sure if they were on the 261 or 119 as well. If anyone can confirm this from that part of town that would be great. The 161 & 261 had ZF ELC Lolynes - 161 had the T SMV & V reg examples whilst the 261 had the 51 reg examples

I do remember that in 1999 all the buses serving the dome had to be low floor despite the step entrance buses still appearing on the 472 😂

Those V and Y reg batches were often intermixed with the 51 reg variants on the 60 from as early as September 2001 when Connex took on the route. A few 51 reg euro2 Tridents due for Stagecoach helped out for a few weeks, them being a mixture of three speed Voith and five speed ZF....the latter which at the time sounded strange coupled to the euro2 Cummin engine. At that time all Connex's Trident variants did odd appearances on the then single deck 405. In 2006 the 152 temporarily became part V reg Tridents when the firm, then becoming Travel London, took over the route early from Centra but with insufficient single deckers. The route continued to have the odd decker (eventually newer Tridents, Volvos and MMC E40Hs) up to when Go Ahead took it over. The 200 with the B9TLs often remind me of the 152 with Tridents, not officially meant for the route but very practical and much more enjoyable over their respective specified types

Will amend as i got the time mixed up with when BC lost the 3 (to QB)

Curse the HS2 all it does is cause disruption, chaos and delays. It makes 395s get delayed and do short turns.

BUT if repairs are needed they might look into it Hear all, an iron curtain is about to fall on the whole of east / SE London Said it before but will say it again. TfL will find a way of introducing a toll! The tunnel is having an ever increasing amount of technical issues / closures and you just know know it will suddenly need to close for "Essential urgent maintenance" once the toll is introduced at Blackwall and Silvertown.

This is probably a wildly unpopular opinion but I’m starting to think the Metrodecker is one of the better double deck EV models now aesthetically. Some of these modern EVs are somehow more weirdly shaped than the Metrodecker and have so many inconveniences such as a lack of back window, the removal of the back middle seat and weird seat layouts whilst the Metrodecker has none of that. I’d say the Electroliner is better but the new facelift looks ugly and it lacks a back middle seat or window , the Enviro400 EV is nice but the downstairs seats are obviously terrible and they are so creaky which I also noticed on the R70s buses, worse than an EH. The new BYD11 thing and the BZLs on the 58 are both very odd looking too, again maybe an unpopular opinion.

Going to offer an even more unpopular opinion - genuinely think every single Electric Decker’s that has came out for London all look wonderful exterior wise.

Here's another very unpopular opinion - I think the new Enviro 400 is rather ugly looking even if it has a much better rear layout than the BYD model

It’s just looks over engineered and too much like a computer designed it. I still think the MCV bodied BZL is my favourite. I think MCV have done a great job on their body, better than other manufacturers have done.
