Thanks - so reading this, Croydon Flyover wasn't actually part of Ringway 4 (that was where the M25 essentially is) and Ringway 3 was to pass right next to the Flyover on it's own separate road slicing through New Addington, running over Coombe Road & the Brighton Main Line, then carving right through the built up area just south of the Flyover and splitting Duppas Hill Recreation Ground into two before heading off over Purley Way just north of Waddon Station. I've previously spoken about the destruction that would of happened had Ringway 1 and it's associated components went ahead - most of Brixton's town centre would of totally destroyed, ending up consisting of tower blocks with two elevated motorways interchanging by the railway lines. It's really mind blogging how anyone can think nowadays that the Ringways scheme is a good idea when so many towns would of been completely destroyed and turned into souless monstrosities - learn the lessons from the construction of Westway. So that article suggests there were 2 projects going on in the early to mid 60s, both having parallel flyovers at Duppas Hill in Croydon. Possible, but illogical. Firstly the Croydon Council initiative to build a Croydon Ring Road, and the GLA Ringway programme. Now for some reason the A232 is a TfL managed road, so they are saying both the flyover was built by the GLA as part of the Croydon Ring Road, and they were also going to build a separate crossing for the Ringway as part of the GLA project .... seems craziness in local politics is not restricted the the last 30 years! The flyover is in the present time a TfL asset(why assumed part of the GLA project, but could be as it is their road) , I don't believe the Wellesley Road Underpass or Jubilee Bridge on Roman Way are, although can't find anything definitive on this. Then surprise, surprise, after completing the 3 complex of sections, they decide to dump the Ring Road project and not complete the simpler northern section, so in effect the project was as an enabler to closing the North End many years later. Not really researched the Ring Road project as much as the Ringway (back in the 90s). So question about the A232. Did it have a route through Croydon prior to the flyover? Why is it the only TfL managed road in the borough other than the A22&23. Probably not incentivised to research these days.

Not being funny but what is the point in post this here when there is a dedicated tender thread for the results. Maybe they haven't seen the tender thread, why not point them in the right direction instead of being rude It’s a bit pointless to repost it in another thread, it also does nothing to try and get visitors to sign up and engage with other users. It’s a bit like the LOTS information argument really…
